You could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us it’s just another hard day’s work. We’re sharing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Joy Café (Buckhead)
You may know Joy Café for its appearance on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, its milk and cookies pie or the droves of people always inhabiting the place. We forget there are simple items on the menu that are conveniently healthy! Next time you need a quick, healthy lunch- opt for the turkey sandwich on wheat bread and customize it any way you like. (For mine, I added avocado, lettuce, tomato and mustard). If you need to balance out the low calorie choice, don’t worry, you can still add a side of whatever you like!
King + Duke (Buckhead)
King + Duke’s smoke box Springer Mountain Chicken doesn’t feel like an indulgence although it looks like one. It’s the perfectly filling combination of protein (roasted chicken), veggies (simple salad) and carbs for good measure (corn muffins). If you’re starving, you may be able to tackle the whole plank of food, but more times than not you get a second chance at this meal with a box of leftovers!
Bocado Burger (Avalon)
Burger spots are generally known for having outrageous hand-cut fries (which Bocado Burger is), and rarely does a green side item take the spotlight. At Bocado’s Avalon location, they crank their Brussels sprouts up a notch by frying them and tossing in a sweet soy glaze topped with shaved radish! It’s a beautiful thing to love the taste of a vegetable this much.
