Atlanta Food & Drink Events Week of March 13

From pasta making and a pork-inspired Fight Club to block parties and a literal culinary ART class, we’ve got the inside scoop on what’s going on in the ATL.

Tuesday, March 14 | 5:30-7:00pm | Watershed on Peachtree

On the second Tuesday of every month, Watershed on Peachtree hosts a 20 for $20 wine tasting. Taste 20 different wines alongside light bites from Chef Zen Stevenson’s infamous kitchen. Snag your tickets here.

If you’re looking for a bit more than a light bite, check out our Watershed dinner recommendations, like their Pimento Cheese Toast with Smoked Ham Hock!

Tuesday, March 14 | 6:30pm | Murphy’s Restaurant

Why should Mersault get all the attention? Burgundy is bustling with smaller villages that get almost no love from us Americans. But all that is about to change at Murphy’s wine tasting event on Tuesday. For $25, you’ll get a tongue-tantalizing tour of the lesser-known Burgundy wines that will knock your socks off. Grab your tickets here.

Don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in a mouthwatering meal while you sip your wine. Here are our faves from Murphy’s menu.

Wednesday, March 15 | 6:00pm | Bellina Alimentari

Channel your inner paisan as Bellina Alimentari’s culinary team guides you, step-by-step, through the filled pasta making process. Start by rolling out your pasta sheets and then build the perfect custom filling for your handcrafted ravioli. The chefs will offer insider tips and tricks along the way, and you’ll get to bring home your very own homemade pasta! Mangia!

The class goes for $54. Register online here.

Thursday, March 16 | 6:00-9:00pm | Smoke Ring BBQ

Everyone knows the first rule of Fight Club: you do not talk about Fight Club. But do you know why? Because you’ll be too busy chowing down on some of the best pork plates in Atlanta. And mama always told us not to talk with our mouths full.

The theme of this Fight Club contest is Pork: More than Just Bacon. Get over to Smoke Ring BBQ where some of the city’s culinary geniuses will spend 60 minutes preparing the perfect pork dish for event attendees to taste and vote on. Get your ticket here.

If you’ve never experienced the joy of Smoke Ring BBQ, add some of these savory BBQ plates to your pork-tasting repertoire.

Friday, March 17 |  noon-11:00pm |  Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant

There’s hardly a pub in Atlanta not offering some kind of St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage, Guinness, or green beer special. But there’s only one block party in Buckhead, and it’s all starting at Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant. Imagine…day drinkers, clad in green, filling the street, dancing to any of the live music acts scheduled to perform throughout the party. Tickets include access to an outdoor beer garden, cocktail stations, and walk-up bars, as well as two big beers to enjoy. Get your tix here.

Saturday, March 18 | 1:00pm | Sugo Restaurant

Practice the art of food photography at this creative class, hosted by Sugo in Johns Creek. Learn new techniques for composition and lighting, and experiment with your new skills alongside a crew of other culinary photogs. While you’re learning, you’ll enjoy a 3-course meal, straight outta the Sugo kitchen!

Tickets go for $49. Call 770-817-8000 to reserve your spot! More info is also available here.

Sunday, March 19 | 2:00-5:00pm | The Optimist

Patio season is in its prime, and to celebrate the season, The Optimist is hosting a traditional crawfish boil. Soak in the sunshine while enjoying fresh seafood and live music from a Cajun-inspired band. Sip on a special punch or enjoy canned beer, both of which will be available for $5. Tickets to the party go for $20. More info is available here.

Into the patio scene, but not so much the crawfish scene? Here are some of the seaworthy dishes we scoured out at The Optimist.
