Best Things We Ate Last Week

btwalw_600x400

One could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us, it’s just another hard day at work. We’re showcasing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Check out AtlantaEatsTV on InstagramFacebook, and Twitter for a constant stream of food porn if this post doesn’t quite cure your fix.

Carne a la Parrilla from Pure Taqueria (Alpharetta, Roswell, Woodstock, Duluth, Brookhaven & Inman Park)

Here at Atlanta Eats, we have had our fair share of Mexican, Tex-Mex, Latin cuisine, you name it. Cruising through Brookhaven, you can find your own fair share of Mexican, but we’ll make it a little easier for you. Pull up to Pure Taqueria, snag a table, and order the Carne a la Parrilla. Pure uses all-natural and pure (get it?) hanger steak, topped off with crunchy corn, hot jalapeno, and crisp red onions. This dish brings it home with a splash of color using the signature house made Chimichurri sauce and spicy jalapeño mac & cheese.

Cinnamon Apple Fritter from Revolution Doughnuts (Decatur)

Doughnuts have always been near and dear to the Atlanta Eats staff. Whether you find yourself needing that little pick-me-up in the office break room, or just needing to calm down an angry toddler, doughnuts are always the solution. Just east of Atlanta, Revolution Doughnuts is located in the central Decatur area. Focusing on sustainability, Revolution Doughnuts uses organic flour, local dairy, and fresh fruit. These hand-crafted treats are exceptionally delicious and the Cinnamon Apple Fritter is certainly a fave! The crispy glaze will melt between your fingers for a true finger licking experience.

Peach Salad Topped with Fried Egg from Old Edwards Inn (Highlands, NC)

Occasionally we like to throw in a favorite dish from our travels, and this one hails from Madison’s Restaurant at Old Edwards Inn nestled in the NC Highlands. Boasting ingredients gathered from local gardens, the Peach Salad will blow your mind. Not only are the leafy greens fresh as can be, the sliced sweet Georgia peach makes for a savory experience your taste buds will love. If you’re looking for a punch of protein, this salad will do the trick. Sprinkled with crispy bacon bits, toasted walnuts & a fried egg, this is a salad that defies expectations.

Did we make you hungry? You’re in luck — Atlanta Eats provides the perfect workday distraction! Peruse our site for videos of Atlanta’s top restaurants, and of course tune in to our show on Peachtree TV every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m.!
