Best Things We Ate Last Week

btwalw_600x400

One could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us, it’s just another hard day at work. We’re showcasing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Check out AtlantaEatsTV on InstagramFacebook and Twitter for a constant stream of food porn if this post doesn’t quite cure your fix.

Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls from Chef Rob’s Caribbean Cafe (Sandy Springs)

When we’re craving a taste of the Caribbean, we know we can always hit up Chef Rob’s at his brick & mortar spot in Sandy Springs or his food truck, which travels to a new location each day! And when we go to either, we always start off our meal with his incredibly tasty Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls. Chef takes zucchini, yellow squash, cabbage, carrots & diced jerk chicken breast marinated in authentic jerk seasonings and deep fries to perfection. A delicious homemade yellow marmalade sauce comes with the egg rolls, which we highly recommend dipping these bad boys in it for even more flavor!

The Manhattan Pizza from Dominic’s New York Pizza Food Truck at Truck and Tap (Woodstock)

Thin, crispy & beyond delicious! We’re suckers for pizza & go nuts for a flavorful thin-crust pie. Dominic’s Pizza, the only mobile brick oven food truck in ATL, served us their delicious Manhattan Pizza, a classic cheese & pepperoni. It wasn’t heavy, but it had so much flavor, which is an A+ in our book!  Dominic’s was one of the 3 food trucks that stopped by our visit to Truck and Tap in Woodstock. A hangout with a huge selection of local craft beers and wines from around the world, different food trucks come daily to show off their various creations. Outdoor seating, a relaxed environment and great music had us feeling like a million bucks, and we definitely plan on going back for more! Opening another location soon in Alpharetta, Truck and Tap is definitely a spot you want to check out!

Peach French Toast from Black Walnut Cafe (Alpharetta)

We’re the type of people who could eat breakfast for lunch or dinner multiple times a week. And the fact that Black Walnut Cafe serves their breakfast menu all day solidifies their permanent spot in our restaurant rotation! After trying 10 different dishes at the newly opened Alpharetta spot, we decided we were most crazed over their Peach French Toast. Drizzled with cream cheese frosting & syrup and topped with fresh peaches, nuts & powdered sugar, this plate really was sinfully delicious. Looks like we will need to make a trip back sooner than later to get our hands on this dish again since a new location will be opening soon in Peachtree Corners!

Did we make you hungry? You’re in luck — Atlanta Eats provides the perfect workday distraction! Peruse our site for videos of Atlanta’s top restaurants, and of course tune in to our show on Peachtree TV every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m.!
