Best Things We Ate Last Week

btwalw_600x400

One could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us, it’s just another hard day at work. We’re showcasing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Check out AtlantaEatsTV on InstagramFacebook and Twitter for a constant stream of food porn if this post doesn’t quite cure your fix.

Shrimp and Grits from The Mill (Roswell)

The Mill is known for their modernized southern comfort food & that’s exactly what we were treated to when we ordered this large plate. Picture the tastiness of shrimp and grits but better…yes you heard that right, BETTER! We were rewarded with not only fresh, seasoned shrimp but also Andouille sausage…aka the best of both southern worlds. And the flavor doesn’t stop there y’all. Cherry tomatoes & Vidalia onions accompanied the shrimp and sausage and sat on top of Red Mule Gouda Grits. Now these aren’t just any ordinary grits…they come from Tim and Alice Mills’ farm in Athens, GA and are light, but packed with tons of flavor since they’re mixed with gouda cheese. We didn’t think it was possible, but after enjoying this dish, we left one of the best patios in Roswell with an even deeper love for the South!

Sashimi Salad from Nori Nori (Sandy Springs)

Nori Nori is not your average buffet. Our visit opened our eyes (and stomachs) to a whole new Japanese food experience. From soups to salads to freshly rolled sushi, we filled up our plates high and tried as many delicious options as possible! One of the dishes that topped our list was the Sashimi Salad. Decadence is hard to come by in buffet style restaurants, but Nori Nori mastered it with this salad. The mixed greens, sliced peppers, and onions are tossed with the freshest of raw fish and topped off with fish eggs. If you want the taste of sushi without carbs from the rice, this salad is a MUST try! Since this dish is on the lighter side, we had a lot more room for many of the other mouthwatering options on the buffet, like the crepes at their crepe station!

The Prosciutto from Pizzeria Lucca (Roswell)

Do yourself a favor of flavor…head over to Pizzeria Lucca in Roswell and order the large Prosciutto pie if you’re looking for fresh ingredients & pies true to Italy. The crispy yet airy pizza crust on this pie is topped with fresh tomato sauce, Fior di latte mozzarella, garlic, basil, uncooked prosciutto & crunchy arugula. The minute we sunk our teeth into this baby, we knew we had met one of our pizza soulmates. The sweetness of the tomato sauce is paired perfectly with the saltiness of the prosciutto & arugula. And the mozzarella was melty cheesy goodness that held all these flavors together on the crispy & airy crust. You’ll definitely want more than one slice…trust us, we ate the whole thing, including all the crumbs!
