Chicken Tomatillo Soup at Joy Cafe
While we didn’t quite get the #SnOMG15 that was being called for, it was mighty cold last week. Our go-to spot when that happens is Joy Cafe. We love all of the soups that Joy herself makes. This special was no exception. Roasted chicken, tart tomatillos, fluffy rice and cilantro all swimming in a flavorful broth. Seconds, please!
Redneck Lasagna at Sam’s BBQ #1
Last week, Steak Shapiro gave his picks on the best BBQ sides in Atlanta. And while that may seem like an impossible task with so many to choose from, there was one dish that easily made the list. Sam’s BBQ is making up a side that combines two of the greatest foods on this planet. They serve up their creamy mac n cheese with a topping of…brunswick stew! Holy, wow…
The Scorpion Bowl at Trader Vics
It’s an old school tradition in Atlanta, Trader Vics, but it has lost none of it’s charm. A few of us headed there for a Thursday night full of mai-tais and love music. And, of course, the Scorpion Bowl! This a drink to share, guys. Remember – caring is sharing. A full bowl of rum and juice, and plenty of straws to go around.
Pig & The Pearl Wings at Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Fest
Reason #65309821 to love the South – there’s a whole festival dedicated to beer, bourbon and bbq. Oh yes! And these wings that were being grilled up by The Pig and The Pearl? Honey hush!!
