Since it’s a holiday, calories don’t count and there’s sure to be a fabulous spread that couldn’t be emulated at home. Must order: Their chicken biscuit dressed in their signature style- pepper jelly & all!
2. Sun In My Belly (Decatur)
Hours: 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Must order: The Belly Benedict with two poached eggs with chipotle hollandaise, sweet potato, honey glazed bacon hash with garlic-spinach sauté and a buttermilk biscuit.
3. Murphy’s (Virginia- Highland)
Hours: 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Must order: Eggs Virginia-Highland aka poached eggs on focaccia topped with spinach, mushrooms and sun-dried tomato hollandaise.
4. West Egg Café (Midtown)
Hours: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Must order: Banana bread French toast topped with a caramel- banana sauce.
5. Einstein’s (Midtown)
Hours: 9 a.m.- 4p.m.
Must order: Grab a seat on their patio and order the Green omelette with pesto, mozzarella, tomato, fried green tomato and basil aioli.
6. The General Muir (Emory Point)
Hours: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Must order: Share a platter! The Lower Eastside comes with lox, Nova and smoked trout salad for your bagel accompaniments.
7. Ria’s Bluebird (Grant Park)
Hours: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Must order: Their famous buttermilk pancakes with syrup, pecans, caramelized bananas and chocolate chips OR the “Bluebird Burrito” with scrambled eggs, skillet potatoes, white cheddar, beans, salsa verde and sour cream.
8. Highland Bakery (Old Fourth Ward)
Hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Must order: Fried chicken eggs Benedict or cilantro corn pancakes layered with black beans and topped with two over medium eggs, sour cream, salsa, white Cheddar cheese and cilantro.
9. Homegrown (Reynoldstown)
Hours: 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Must order: Their famous “comfy chicken biscuit” covered in sausage gravy.
10. Brookwood Grill (Roswell)
Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
What to order: Their Spanish omelette filled with tomato, onion, spinach and potato served with bacon, toast and fruit.
