Halloween is right around the corner and I want to make your day a little less frightening (a.k.a. LESS STRESSFUL) by sharing with you my “go to” recipe for Slow Cooker Pulled Pork that’s the PERFECT meal before a long night of trick or treating! All you need are four ingredients to make this super easy recipe that takes less than ten minutes to prep and will cook while you’re busy crossing off all those items on your Halloween “to do” list.
The surprising ingredient that makes this recipe so good is the 12 ounce bottle of root beer (yes, root beer!) that you pour over the Boston Butt at the beginning of the cooking process (I like to use the 365 Every Day Value Brand Root Beer from Whole Foods, it has no artificial colors or flavors).
All you do is cook the Boston Butt on low for six to seven hours and the end result is amazingly tender pulled pork that your little ghosts and goblins will love! Add bought potato salad or coleslaw and your Halloween meal is complete.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Recipe
1 (4 pound) Boston Butt
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle of root beer
1 (18 ounce) bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce
8 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted
Place the Boston Butt in a slow cooker; pour the root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, 6 to 7 hours. Note: the actual length of time may vary according to individual slow cooker. Drain well. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.
