We love Atlanta. We particularly love the people who help others in Atlanta. And we want to remind everyone that nothing screams holiday cheer during the Season of Giving more than giving back. We worked with four organizations this year who strive every day to improve people’s lives. Learn more about each organization below and set up recurring payments to donate. But don’t just be limited to this one time of year – these organizations can always use your support.
Camp Twin Lakes
Children with special needs have the opportunity to overcome obstacles and share experiences with children facing similar challenges – all thanks to the help of Camp Twin Lakes. They provide year-round camps that are fully accessible to all campers in Rutledge, Winder, and Warm Springs while also bringing camps to children’s hospitals and other locations in Georgia. They have served 10,000 campers with the help of 3,500 volunteers and while 70% of costs are subsidized by the camp itself, donations are a huge help to the organization and more importantly the children. Help these kids go to camp and donate here.
The Giving Kitchen/Staplehouse
Every restaurant owner and chef will tell you that they can’t run their business on their own. They rely on a team of dedicated staffers to keep the kitchen and house running smoothly. That’s why The Giving Kitchen, and their brick and mortar restaurant, Staplehouse, are so important. Whether it’s the chefs or servers, unanticipated emergencies happen and The Giving Kitchen is there to help by providing assistance grants. In order to help those in need, donations are needed and greatly appreciated. If you are feeling generous and want to impact the lives of those who take care of you when you go out to eat, visit their website. You can also eat at Staplehouse, where profits go back to The Giving Kitchen’s grants.
Cure Childhood Cancer
Cancer is something that affects all of us, but when the most vulnerable of us get it, we need to help them get all of the resources they need to fight this disease. That’s where Cure Childhood Cancer comes in. They are dedicated to fighting childhood cancer by supporting cutting edge cancer research. No amount is too small or large when it comes to making sick children healthy again. Donate today.
Atlanta Community Food Bank
We highlighted the great work ACFB does this month, but we just wanted to highlight them one more time. As a member of Feeding America, ACFB follows through on that mission by feeding 700,000 people in metro Atlanta and Georgia every year. Just $1 of donations is equivalent to 4 meals, and donations before 12.31 will be matched. Donate today.
