Downwind Restaurant and Lounge

Peachtree-Dekalb Airport might not be the most famous starting point for flying to exotic destinations, but boy does it have a restaurant with a view!

The Downwind Restaurant and Lounge sits on the runway at PDK, and if you head to the patio at the back you can watch the planes come and go all day. The restaurant is kid-friendly, and if you’re tasked with looking after an elementary school child, this place will knock their socks off.

Without making it look like they’re trying, the Downwind over-delivers when it comes to Greek salad with blackened chicken, burgers, and live music on Friday nights.

As far as other things to do in the area…well, like most airports there’s not a whole lot close to it. So just go enjoy watching the planes coming and going.
