HD1 – Haute Doggery
After launching Flip Burger in Buckhead, one of Atlanta’s most recognizable chef faces, Richard Blais, turned his attention to the other American classic: The Hot Dog.
Opening next to Hector Santiago’s Pura Vida in Poncey-Highland, Blais’s HD1 Haute Doggery and Bar opts for less traditional dogs, while serving the familiar wiener in a bun. Alongside the usual suspects you’ll find a version of the Reuben sandwich, with sauerkraut, cheese, and thousand island dressing; the Dublin, which is a Pine Street Irish banger, cheddar beer mustard, and bacon braised cabbage.
The center of the room is dominated by a couple of communal dining tables, but if you’re not comfortable rubbing elbows with your neighbor, there are smaller tables by the front window, and plenty of seats at the bar.
