Giving Kitchen – Woodford Reserve

Industry workers as well as those outside of the food industry know Ryan Hidinger through his restaurant work history and recent efforts to open his own restaurant, Staplehouse. In late August 2013, Ryan & his wife Jen along with six prominent Atlanta chefs and restaurateurs traveled to the Woodford Reserve distillery, in the bourbon country of Kentucky to select their own barrel of bourbon. This custom barrel of blended Woodford Reserve is now available to the public for purchase at select restaurants with 100% of the proceeds going to the Giving Kitchen/Staplehouse.

The Giving Kitchen Initiative supports the metro Atlanta restaurant community by lending a helping hand to industry members impacted by medical or other unanticipated hardship. This initiative was inspired by the outpouring of support from the community that was generated when Atlanta chef Ryan Hidinger was diagnosed with late stage cancer.

The Atlanta restaurant community rose to the occasion to support a beloved member. The fund began as a reaction to an immediate need that arose but aims to be a “proactive” effort by building a reserve fund that will be in place to assist restaurant industry members when a crisis strikes.
