Moxie Burger
“The world needs more moxie,” proclaims this Marietta burger shop. When the ethos of a restaurant is using only high quality fresh ingredients, cooking them to order, and competing with your own high standards, we have to agree that this kind of moxie is something we’d like to see more of. In fact, you know how the big burger chains show you a picture of a burger that looks like a juicy ground sirloin between two giant, pillowy halves of a bread bun, before they shove a foil wrapped package of disappointment through your car window? Moxie’s burger’s actually look like that picture.
Sourcing its beef from Buckhead Beef, Moxie assembles “awesome creations” in a bun. But the meat doesn’t begin and end with beef — there’s lamb, turkey, and chicken — and that’s before we address the hot dogs. Richard Blais’s HD1 might have cornered the in-town hot dog market, but Moxie’s dogs are every bit as tasty.
This place is great for a fun afternoon/evening out, or if you’re tired of taking your kid’s soccer team to McDonald’s after a game, Moxie is a better (and better for you and the kids) alternative.
Highlights
Moxie Burger
Obviously you should try the restaurant’s signature dish: 6oz of black angus beef (cooked your way), fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese give this sammy a southern spin, and the secret Moxie Sauce sends you on a turbo-charged trip to tasty town.
The Cadillac
Lamb Burger? Yeah, you read that right. White Oak Pastures ground lamb (so you know your pattie had a happy and fulfilling life before it became your lunch), on a white or wheat bun, with caramelized onions, goat cheese, sauteed mushrooms and a creole chili sauce that puts the “zing” in “appetizing.”
