6 of Mara Davis’ Fave Hotdogs & Sausages

Since we’re still in the Dog Days of Summer, our co-host Mara Davis thought it would be fitting to put together a list of her favorite hot dogs & sausages in the A and share it on her Bert Show segment! The Snapchat hot dog filter may have given a bit of inspiration as well…

Although these dogs don’t do any kind of dancing, they surely add some excitement to the American classic. Check out some of Mara’s faves below!

Mikes Chicago Dogs (Sandy Springs)

This spot’s been around forever! Known for their truly authentic classic Chicago dogs served on poppy seed buns with pickles, you’ll feel like you’re in the heart of Chi-town.

Universal Joint (Decatur & Lawrenceville)

Mara’s favorite is the Charlie Dog. Served with pimento cheese and bacon for a southern flair, this bad boy will have you saying hot diggity dog after one bite!

Holeman and Finch (Brookwood)

The creators of one of the most legendary burgers in ATL also know what they’re doing when it comes to dogs. This sausage is definitely meant for the true foodies of Atlanta as it’s a bit craftier than the typical one. A sweet and spicy pork sausage is topped with kale kimchi and basil mayo. We’re salivating just thinking about the combo!

Two Birds Taphouse (Marietta)

The Summer Donger is a favorite of Brian Benefield’s, co-founder of Marietta Food Tours. Grilled Wagyu beef is topped with house chow chow and Dijon mustard & served on a Holeman and Finch poppy seed egg bun. The eye opening name has nothing on it’s mouthwatering taste!

The Painted Pin (Buckhead)

Watch out chicken and waffles…The Painted Pin is serving up some Waffle Dogs! A petite beef frank is dipped in malted waffle batter and fried to perfection. Three of these beauties come with a sweet soy aioli for dipping. It’s a hipster bowling experience with mini corndogs!

Delia’s Chicken Sausage Stand (East Atlanta & West Midtown)

Delia’s is winning with their wieners! This spot is known for their incredible chicken sausage that you can order in a bunch of yummy ways. The names of different options are also super fun, including The Naked Slinger and The Hot Mess. And get this…they’re open 24 hours on the weekend for those patrons with some serious drunchies, aka the drunken munchies.
