Atlanta Food & Drink Events Week of February 20

FEB. 20- FEB. 26

We see lots of craft beer, whiskey and tequila in your near future, with this week’s event calendar featuring everything from whiskey flights and free ale to craft-beer-and-cookie pairings and $10 margaritas.

Monday, February 20 | 5:00pm | Table & Main

Going to work on Monday morning is always easier when you’re looking forward to a flight of craft whiskey, perfectly paired with small bites from the kitchen at Table & Main. Tonight, the Roswell hot spot wants you to taste Larceny, Templeton Rye and Bulleit 10-Year. Your seat at Flights & Bites goes for $25. Visit their site or call (678) 869-5178 to book your reservation.

Tuesday, February 21 | 6:00pm | Petite Violette

Petite Violette’s Dinner and a Diva series was designed to immerse you in our city’s deep cultural heritage. This week, the series will serve up a multi-course wine dinner, including hors d’oeuvres, salad, entree selection, dessert, coffee and two glasses of wine. Dine on a delicious meal, alongside entertainment from the Capitol City Opera Company as they recreate the opera’s most romantic scenes and arias. Call (404) 634-6286 for reservations.

Wednesday, February 22 | 5:30pm | Hop City Craft Beer & Wine (Krog Street Market location)

Maybe FREE BEER is all we need to say about this event, but we’d like to sound a bit more poetic. Join the Asheville Brewing Company and southern rock band Blackberry Smoke at Hop City for free beer – for a good cause! This freedom-inspired ale is on the house all night, all to raise funds for the Shepherd’s Center SHARE Military Initiative, which is dedicated to the treatment of veterans suffering from brain injuries and PTSD. This is a free event, with free beer, benefitting a great cause, so we’ll see you there! Call (470) 355-2534 for more details.

Wednesday, February 22 | 7:30-10:30pm | North Highland Pub

Every year, Terrapin beer hosts its Wake & Bake Off competition, where people are encouraged to bake with their beers. Well, this Wednesday at 7:30pm, these beer-a-licious creations will be available for all to taste. Can we guarantee that everything will please your palate? Nope. But we can promise some good times. Call (404) 522-4600 for more info.

Saturday, February 25 | 10am | Pine Street Market

If you’ve ever watched Sylvester Stallone pound the bejeezus out of animal carcasses in Rocky and thought, ‘Hmmm, I might also one day like to butcher an animal carcass,’ then this event is for you. Discover the art of butchering in this 3-hour class, designed to teach in-depth, hands-on butchering techniques. This is a small class, promising plenty of 1-on-1 time with your teachers. The hope is for you to walk away with advanced knowledge of this unique and timeless genre of culinary art. $275 for a ticket, which you can grab here.

Saturday, February 25 | 1-4pm | Second Self Beer Company

Wine & cheese. Pizza & wings. Girl Scout cookies & beer. They just go together, and at this Second Self Beer Company event, you’ll get to pair your favorite Girl Scout cookies with one of the city’s best craft breweries. Event cost is $12, which includes a souvenir pint glass, sample tokens, and lots and lots of Girl Scout cookies. Call (678) 916-8035 to grab your ticket.

Sunday, February 26 | 12 noon | Tin Lizzy’s Cantina

National Margarita Day is actually on Wednesday 2/22, but Lizzy drank too many margs and forgot. So they’re celebrating everyone’s favorite cocktail ALL week! Grab a 24-ounce margarita for only $10, served in a commemorative flask (that you can keep!) and poured over ice right at your table. This celebration is taking place at all 13 Tin Lizzy’s locations in Georgia and South Carolina! Call you local Tin Lizzy’s spot for more info.
