Best Things We Ate Last Week

btwalw_600x400

One could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us, it’s just another hard day at work. We’re showcasing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Check out AtlantaEatsTV on InstagramFacebook and Twitter for a constant stream of food porn if this post doesn’t quite cure your fix.

Jim II Sammie from Peach & the Porkchop (Roswell)

Drool worthy chicken sandwiches are what we live for & we found one that practically made us slobber! Peach & the Porkchop is home to unbeatable southern hospitality as well as the Jim II, made with farm to table ingredients that thoroughly impressed our taste buds. A perfectly breaded chicken breast sits on top of a freshly baked bun and is loaded with grilled jalapeños, sautéed onions, mushrooms, thickly sliced bacon and pepper jack cheese. This savory, spicy sandwich is so incredible that it is in the running for Best Fried Chicken Sandwich in Georgia, and we were lucky enough to try it! Check out the contest here & definitely visit The Peach & the Porkchop to try this bad boy!

Saganaki from Taverna Plaka (Cheshire Bridge)

Authentic cuisine is important to us here at Atlanta Eats, so that’s why we chose Taverna Plaka for our Greek food needs. Just off Cheshire Bridge Road, Taverna serves up a plate of heavenly flaming cheese that will make you say Opa! You heard us right…this dish is literally on fire! Kefalograviera cheese is drizzled in rum and then ignited & brought to your table ablaze! Spread this treat on a piece of fresh pita bread (once the flame is out!) for a glorious Grecian appetizer. Trust us, this will have you dancing on tables alongside the belly dancers once you try it!

Queso Con Carne with Grilled Chicken from Taco Mac (multiple locations)

We all know that Taco Mac’s queso is the bomb, but somehow they’ve managed to make it even more explosive! This gooey goodness has tender grilled chicken, 5 different melted cheeses & is finished with freshly sliced jalapeños and pico de gallo. Served with fresh salsa, tortilla chips and flour tortillas, you’ve got multiple options for supreme dipping! Starting your meal off the right way is essential to dining out, so head on over to your local T Mac and order yourself an ice cold beer & some Queso Con Carne for an amazing time!
