Irby’s Tavern
Legend has it that a man named Henry Irby built a tavern and grocery store on Peachtree in the mid 1800’s. The area around his store was so frequented by locals that they called it Irbyville. The story goes that a hunter mounted a Buck’s head outside of Irbyville, and when travelers were looking for a good place to go, they were told to find the Buck’s Head. Thus, the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta was born. Irby’s embodies that local history by striving to be Atlanta’s hometown sports bar – a place where you can enjoy a great drink, a fantastic meal, and the company of the best people on earth – Atlanta sports fans!
