Ponko Chicken

Where does East meet West in the South? At PONKO chicken! This Japanese inspired fast casual restaurant was a Stone Mountain institution until it took a break for a few years after the 2008 recession. Today, the sister-led operation joined with a new business partner who happened to be a local doctor – one who appreciates a healthy menu that still has a “cravability factor”. We visited the first Franchisee owned location, which happens to be led by Johnny Esposito, scion of the owner of Atlanta’s famous Johnny’s Hidewaway, who’s bringing his own spin to the location with music on the weekends.
