5 Great Places Where We Recently Grabbed A “Byte” in Midtown

We recently filmed at one of the most technological – and DELICIOUS – restaurants in Atlanta: Midtown’s Bytes.  Midtown continues to have great restaurant options with more opening up every day.  Inspired by our visit to Bytes, we’ve put together 5 great places we’ve been to recently where you can get something satisfying in Midtown.

The Coconut Curry Mussels at Bytes

BYTES, located in Tech Square, offers customers the opportunity to enjoy delicious food in a digital friendly environment. What makes this restaurant different from every other place is that you have the opportunity to order tasty and delectable food right through their mobile app, making the overall dining experience more interactive and customer-friendly. Additionally, they service carbonated craft beverage, Stubborn Soda, made with all-natural pure cane sugar. Specializing in unique flavors, including black cherry, root beer, lemon berry acai, agave vanilla cream, orange hibiscus, and pineapple cream, Stubborn Soda offers a healthier and more enjoyable option served from their unique tap handle design. Pair a Stubborn Soda beverage with one of BYTES’s specialties, like gruyere macaroni and cheese bytes, chicken and waffles, lobster macaroni and cheese, BBQ chicken pizza, kale and beet salad, or a crab cake burger. If you’re still hungry, stick around for a unique milkshake or dessert.

The Canteen, also located in Tech Square, acts as a small food hall hosting four distinctive stalls. Ranging from TGM Bagel, Fred’s Meat & Bread, Yalla, and Square Bar, the Canteen is the place to go if you are hungry and craving a fun atmosphere. As all the different food stalls offer different styles of food and beverage, you can not go wrong with any of the options.

Empire State South, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, specializes in modern authentic southern cuisine. Executive chef of Empire State South, Josh Hopkins, uses fresh and local ingredients to craft tasty creations, featuring BBQ chicken & grits, spicy fried chicken sandwich, tender ribeye steak, and green garlic cannelloni.

Joy Cafe combines traditional southern flavors with European recipes to create mouthwatering creations. Also, Joy Cafe handcrafts house signature cocktails, including the Grapefruit Goddess, made with Cathead vodka, grapefruit, lemon, rosemary, and maple syrup. Pair it with either Joy’s big berry Belgian waffle or a farm fresh omelet and your taste palate is sure to be enthusiastically pleased.

Looking for a local tavern that serves tasty creations? Look no further! The Nook, located across from Piedmont Park, offers a scenic patio space for customers to socialize and enjoy scrumptious food and drinks. Having won several awards for their atmosphere and eats, the Nook strives to provide a place for everyone to enjoy a great meal with great company. What makes this place special is their close ties with the Atlanta community. In order to promote environmental engagement, the Nook serves a seasonal cocktail called the Drink for the Trees, which donates the proceeds to the Piedmont Park Conservancy. Currently, this season’s drink is called the local lemon-aid, made with muddled strawberries & lemons, simple syrup, VeeV Acai Berry Liqueur, and a splash of Sprite.
