5 Hot, New Restaurants Just Opened in Atlanta

It seems like there’s a new spot opening up in Atlanta just about every day, and we’re here to help you keep track of them! Keep reading to find out some of the newest fare and new locations hitting the scene.

1. Wood’s Chapel BBQ

The team behind West Egg Cafe, Fred’s Meat & Bread, The General Muir, and plenty more Atlanta favorites are bringing some stellar smoked BBQ to the Summerhill neighborhood. Smoked wings, chopped whole hog, and mouthwatering sandwiches like a brisket grilled cheese and a BBQ bahn mi are just some of the enticing items on the menu. You’re going to want to go hungry!

2. Tanaka Express

Tanaka Express, a place that’s “a slurp above the rest,”  is opening near Emory! Try their Spicy Chicken Ramen, made with chicken shashu and spicy brean sprouts or their Takoyaki Octopus, traditional octopus balls with kewpie mayo, smoked bonito flakes, and okonomi sauce.  Tanaka Express is scheduled to open on Monday, 8/12, at 1540 Avenue Place, Suite #B260, Atlanta, GA 30329. Breakfast will also be served Monday through Friday, serving up items like pork buns and salmon onigiri!

3. Fellows Cafe

Fellows Cafe is bringing delicious breakfast and brunch to Roswell’s downtown scene in a cute-as-a-button cafe with cozy indoor and outdoor seating. You absolutely don’t want to miss the lemon ricotta hot cakes–somehow fluffy, light, and decadent all at once! It’s the perfect study spot or place to catch up with a friend.

4. Aziza 

There are so many excellent restaurants in West Midtown, and they’ve just added another! Aziza brings modern Israeli cuisine to the Westside Provisions District. Get a taste of the Middle East with their braised lamb shank and octopus dish. If you’re on-the-go, you can also try out the hummus bowl from their Falafel Nation counterpart, which is separate from their main dining room, and according to their Instagram, was “created to replicate an authentic Israeli walk-up falafel stand.”

5. Doughnut Dollies 

Marietta favorite Doughnut Dollies has expanded! This craft donut spot has opened up a second new location on Howell Mill Road. Doughnut Dollies is bringing their unique flavors like the Lemon Poppy, Brown Sugar Fig, and Key Lime donut to the Buckhead crowd. Don’t miss out on the Mikey, made with maple and espresso cream and topped with a whole slice of bacon!
