Zion Williamson – Nina + Rafi

At 6/7, 284 lbs, Zion is slightly more substantial than your average 18 year old Freshman.  At Nina and Rafi, their Detroit style pizza is significantly more substantial than your average pizza.  Warning – the meatballs are so delicious they may make you explode out of your shoes.

Ja Moront in front of the Slutty Vegan signJa Morant – Slutty Vegan

Considered by many to be the best guard in the country, Morant took Murray State, a team without much pedigree, and turned them in to a late round favorite.  The food truck is also often under-respected, without much pedigree. But Slutty Vegan owner Pinky Cole has taken the underdog food truck and turned it into a line-out-the-door Vegan burger spot.

RJ Barrett in front of the bar at LloydsRJ Barrett – Lloyd’s

Lloyd’s harkens back to a time when everything was smooth – the music, the beer and the atmosphere.  That, along with a delicious menu that fills the stat sheet, makes it the perfect analogue to Duke’s RJ Barrett.  Barrett’s a silky smooth forward who led his team in scoring at 22.9 points per game.  Also – His godfather is two time NBA MVP Steve Nash. Kind of like how Lloyd’s godfather-of-sorts is Victory Sandwich Bar (owned by the same restaurant group).

Deandre Hunter stares into the sky in front of TesoroDeAndre Hunter – Tesoro

March is a time when the floor can open up a little bit and shooters really get to shine.  It’s also when a restaurant can open up its outdoor space a bit, and the food gets to shine in a warmer environment.  Virginia’s DeAndre Hunter and Tesoro should both shine this March, as the weather gets warmer and the shooters heat up.
