Before you even step inside you can already feel the good vibes radiating from this spot. Once you see the green door and black and white awning, you’ll know you’ve made it. The Buttery is small, but there’s so much to see, so take a walk around the shop before you pick anything. They have a precious market full of meats, cheeses and other items you may want to add to your pantry. Step a little further and you’ll see the glass counter full of pies, croissants, danishes, muffins and more. This is the spot for all things breakfast/lunch sandwiches and baked goods.

2. Saint Germain

Saint Germain is a French bakery with 3 locations around Atlanta. It’s a lovely spot to just grab a latte and get some work done, or if you need to order a custom cake, they can do that too. The glass counter is always full of the most beautiful and colorful desserts like macarons, tarts, éclairs and more. You can never go wrong with grabbing a sweet treat from Saint Germain.

3. Alon’s Bakery

Alon’s is another one of those spots where you could just sit all day, but you’d probably indulge in one too many pastries or lattes. They have two locations, one at Phipps and another around Virginia Highlands and both are divine. Ordering cakes here for special occasions is a must. The cakes are so light and fluffy and the icing so rich and delicious, it’s the best gift you could give someone!

4. Henri’s

Henri’s has been around for ages, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why! Whether you’re just walking in for a quick sandwich or you’re placing a large togo order, they’ve got you covered. Star provisions is located on the Upper Westside just down the street from The Works. From the service to the good music and tasty menu options, this place has it going on. If you want something small, take a look at what’s on display for the day. If you’re in the mood for something heavier, their sandwiches are the way to go. They also have a Crispy Chicken Biscuit with Hot Pepper Honey that is just divine, and their breakfast menu is served all day!

6. Little Tart

Lucky for you, there are a couple of Little Tart’s around town so you’ll never be too far from deliciousness! They can even be found at farmers markets on the weekends so keep an eye out for them. Their first shop opened up in Grant Park in 2011, and they serve a weekend brunch menu here with the best seasonal items! At the Krog Street location, you can find freshly baked pastries daily, and at the Summerhill location, this is a great spot to get a coffee, a scone, and set up somewhere comfy to read or get some work done.

Pala is a simple spot serving only the best quality products and that’s just how we like it. Stop in for fresh baked Italian pastries, gelato and paninis. They’ve got a small market where you can grab things like fresh basil, tomatoes, pasta sauce and other key ingredients to make the perfect homemade Italian meal. Wondering where the name comes from? Owners Isaac and Stephanie Meek run this wonderful establishment along with the help of their five little girls. They started in Tennessee and now have two Atlanta locations, one in Ponce City Market and the other in West Midtown. Donuts are how they roll here and they constantly have new flavors coming out. They call them the “100 layer donuts” and when you bite into one you’ll see why. Along with classic and amazing donuts, they also offer mini donut options and paleo options.

Evergreen is such a great concept brought to us by a couple who simply loves their craft. Emma is the brains behind all of the baked goods, and Sean handles all things meat whether it’s beef, pork, lamb or one of the many delicious deli meats they serve. Stop in for some incredible fresh bread daily, and they also have a rotating special each day so be sure to check their website to see what’s on the menu! They also offer a handful of fresh pastries from danishes to ham and cheese croissants. Next time you’re in Kirkwood, this is a spot you’ll want to check out.

Grab a seat on the patio and enjoy a latte with your ricotta pancakes, or check them out for catering if you have an event coming up!
