Best Places to Order Fajitas in Atlanta
A sizzling fajita dish gets attention at any restaurant and it’s clear why. Almost all of your senses are stimulated. It smells incredible, you can hear it sizzling on the skillet as they bring it out to you, you can see the steam rising from the fresh-off-the-grill proteins, and if they do it right, the taste is terrific. Just maybe don’t touch until it cools down a little. With origins in the Rio Grande Valley and cowboy cooking, the history of fajitas is fascinating (you can read more in this Austin Chronicle article) but the flavor is what makes them a favorite all around America. We’ve compiled our list of some of the best places in the A to get this mouthwatering, Tex Mex classic.
7 Tequilas
Multiple Locations
Folks in Canton, Cumming, John’s Creek and Woodstock have one answer when you ask them where’s the best place to get fajitas – 7 Tequilas, of course! In addition to great fajita plates, they also have a huge array of incredible margaritas, to make your night even more sizzling. Fajitas come with the full fixings – rice, beans (refried or charro), guacamole salad, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms, zucchini and yellow squash. Choose between corn and flour tortillas.
Cinco
Multiple Locations
The place may be called Cinco, but you’ll only need to go once to become a fan. They make a sizzling hot fajita plate with the classics, but an added option of pork on their Grande Fajita platter. If you’re feeling fajitas but want to stay away from meat, check out their Vegetarian Fajita platter with mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and squash.

El Ponce
939 Ponce De Leon Ave, NE Atlanta, GA 30306
Hipster fajitas? Hell yeah. At El Ponce, you can’t miss their pink logo featuring a heartbroken Richie Valens looking cartoon shedding a tear. Despite the iconography, your reaction will be markedly different. They make excellent, classic fajitas with Chicken, steak, shrimp and veggies. Their veggie fajita, in particular, may be the best in the City – they use the freshest veggies they can get for a colorful, sizzling entree.
La Parrilla
Multiple Locations
These folks are sizzling fajitas all over the Southeast. With locations in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina, folks in urban, suburban, exurban and rural areas all can feed on some fajitas without having to travel far thanks to La Parrilla. They’ve got the classic combos – chicken, skirt steak and shrimp. You can get all three in their Texas Fajita platter, along with Mexican rice, beans, lettuce, pico, guac, and sour cream.
Los Cowboys
113 Main St Villa Rica, GA 30180
(770) 456-2291
Villa Rica, GA may not be the first place you think of going to find great fajitas, but like the vaqueros who used the unwanted cuts of meat to make incredible food, Los Cowboys know what they’re doing. Owner Humberto Melendez and his family started the restaurant in 1997 using the recipes and flavors of his native Jalisco, Mexico to make fantastic food. Get ambitious and order the Parrilla Cowboy – a mixed dish with chicken breast, steak, shrimp, chorizo, pork, carne asada and veggie fajitas all on a steaming skillet.
No Mas!
180 Walker St SW Ste B Atlanta, GA 30313
(404) 574-5678
This Mexican restaurant near Mercedes Benz Stadium is enormous – they have enough space to host huge groups, parties and more. They even have a Mexican market with materials sourced directly from the country. But folks love the fajitas there – sizzling skirt steak is always satisfying before or after a game. They also make their tortillas in house, a perfect complement to their incredible skillets.
Superica
Multiple Locations
Chef Ford Fry grew up in Houston, one of the places Fajitas became popularized in America. He knows a good fajita experience from a bad one, so it’s no surprise that his iconic Atlanta Tex Mex restaurant Superica makes an excellent one. Choose between chicken breast, skirt steak (for authentic fajitas, they should use this cut of steak), and a vegetable mix. They’re served with charro beans, guac, cheese, sour cream, pico, house made tortillas and an incredible Mexican butter.

Tacos and Tequilas
Multiple Locations
People throughout metro Atlanta have been going to Tacos and Tequilas for reliable Mexican food for years. Next time, dine-in instead of doing take out and order their delicious fajita platters. Our favorite – the Campechano fajita with carnitas, chicken breast and chorizo for an extra savory dinner. They also have the classic steak, chicken, shrimp and veggies, along with a carnitas that’s topped with mushrooms and cheese.

La Frontera
Multiple Locations
We could not forget La Frontera for some juicy fajitas of your meat choice. You can not go wrong by trying the My Frontera Fajitas; it contains grilled steak, chicken, and shrimp with all the veggie goodies, rice, beans, and tortillas! Do not worry! They have veggie fajitas too, and with the same amazing taste. If you want more goodness, try visiting on Sundays in the mid-day for their buffet!

Honorable Mention – Food Terminal
Multiple Locations
Ok, you may be wondering why we’re putting a Malaysian place in what is clearly a Mexican category, but hear us out. Food Terminal’s rolling hot plate dishes are basically an Asian approach to the fajita experience. Served in a hot cast iron skillet, items like their Tom Yum rolling hot plate (with chicken, shrimp, cilantro, bell peppers, red onion, egg, fried shallots, spring onions and tomato braised rice) come sizzling and steamy, smell beautiful, and are incredibly delicious.
