The Best Places to Get Lasagna in Atlanta

Everyone loves lasagna. Layers of cheese and bechamel and meat and saucy goodness come together in one perfect dish. Atlanta has a multitude of Italian restaurants where you can enjoy some version of lasagna – everything from a grandma’s gravy, New Jersey style Italian restaurant to a fine dining, modern approach to Italian food. We’ve included a few of our favorites below.

Lasagna from Bellina Alimentari in Ponce City Market.

Bellina Alimentari
675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE UNIT 131, Atlanta, GA 30308
Looking for a lasagna that’s hearty but not beefy? You can’t do better than Bellina Alimentari’s eggplant parmesan. Pastas are made in-house at Bellina Alimentari, so expect delicious pasta, eggplant, pomodoro, basil, mozzarella and parmigiano-reggiano.

Lasagna from Campagnolo in Midtown Atlanta.

Campagnolo
Fresh
980 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
The name Campagnolo translates to “peasant”, however the food – and lasagna in particular – is anything but. They take an almost avant garde approach to lasagna with their “Lasagna Matta” or “crazy” lasagna. What makes it crazy? There isn’t much structure to it – it all comes served in a beautiful bowl. So the approach may feel topsy turvy, but the flavors are not – it’s one of the best lasagna dishes in the A!

Lasagna from Dirty Rascal in Buckhead.
Dirty Rascal
415 East Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30305
Perhaps the most unique – and Instagrammable – dish on this list, Dirty Rascal’s lasagna takes a vertical approach to the classic dish. The classic ingredients are all there – Ricotta, beef, mozzarella, beschamel and marinara – but the dish is plated and presented as a “Rotolo”, or a lasagna roll up. It’s made for 2-3 guests, so make sure you’re with someone who has an appetite or save a corner of your fridge for leftovers.

Lasagna from Ippolito's.

Ippolito’s
Multiple Locations – see website for details
Ippolito’s is ubiquitous in Atlanta – with multiple locations and nearly 3 decades in business, they have been ATL’s classic Italian restaurant for years. I have to admit that this choice is partially tied to nostalgia – I first tried the Ippolito’s lasagna when I was a 10 year old boy and the super cheesy dish has held a soft spot in my heart since then. But it’s for good reason – the lasagna there is cheesy, indulgent and a crowd pleaser every time.

Lasagna from Lyla Lila in Downtown Atlanta.
Instagram/lylalilaatl

Lyla Lila
693 Peachtree St NE UNIT 118, Atlanta, GA 30308
Chef Craig Richards opened Lyla Lila a little over 5 years ago, and the midtown Atlanta fine dining restaurant has become a destination for restaurant enthusiasts both in and outside the City. Chef Richards’ training and creative approach to food is seen in every dish on the menu, perhaps most notably in the Crispy Duck Lasagna, made with a cocoa bechamel, parmigiano and a carrot-coriander puree. With tons of layers and an intentionally crispy exterior, the texture and flavor of this dish is like no other lasagna you’ve ever tasted – in a very good way!

Lasagna from Sotto Sotto in Inman Park.
Instagram/sottosottoatl

Sotto Sotto
313 North Highland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307
Inman Park’s Sotto Sotto takes a slightly different approach to their lasagna but not using lasagna noodles at all. Instead, they use Lasagnette, a narrower, thinner version of the wide lasagna pasta. This approach makes the lasagna at Sotto Sotto less focused on structural layers, and more on a plate of delicious flavors. Split one to start your next date night.

Lasagna from Storico Fresco in Buckhead.
Instagram/storicofresco

Storico Fresco
3167 Peachtree Rd NE Suite S, Atlanta, GA 30305
This Buckhead pasta restaurant and store makes some of the freshest, most fantastic pasta in Atlanta. Somehow, the delicious flavors of their lasagna manage to eclipse the perfect texture of the pasta. It’s made with a classic spinach noodle, beef and pancetta ragu, bechamel and grana padano cheese – the most authentically Italian approach to a lasagna on this list.

Lasagna from Paolino in Oakhurst.
Instagram/taztaylortaz

Paolino
350 Mead Rd, Decatur, GA 30030
This Oakhurst family focused restaurant consistently delivers solid, savory pasta dishes that everyone can enjoy. They make both a meat focused and a vegetarian focused one with eggplant, so there’s something for every palatte at Paolino. Spend the night out on the front patio with an Aperol Spritz and this delicious baked pasta.
