Best Things We Ate Last Week – 5/24

btwalw_600x400

One could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us, it’s just another hard day at work. We’re showcasing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Check out AtlantaEatsTV on InstagramFacebook and Twitter for a constant stream of food porn if this post doesn’t quite cure your fix.

Coconut Ceviche from Yebo Beach Haus (Buckhead)

A 1000% MUST try at one of Justin Anthony’s magical restaurants! This tropical, fresh dish bursting with flavor really makes you feel like you’re at the beach. Presented in a raw halved coconut (which we recommend enjoying after finishing what’s inside!), freshly scallops, prawns, octopus, jicama (a Mexican turnip), papaya and avocado are drizzled with a coconut jalapeño vinaigrette. The jicama root and fruit coupled with the raw fish and vinaigrette was a light yet tangy paradise for our tummies! And the perfect thing about this small plate is that it leaves room for more of Yebo’s delicious dishes that are just as rave-worthy!

Fried Chicken from Old Vinings Inn (Vinings)

Y’all, the first bite of this homemade fried chicken is such a satisfying feeling. Between the crunchiness from the skin and the juiciness from the meat, your tastebuds will be in heaven! Springer Mountain Chicken is breaded and dipped in buttermilk, served on top of a heaping pile of white cheddar grits and pot likker collards in a pool of sage gravy. No napkins were used in the consumption of this meal because it was too finger licking good!

Jimmy Pesto Sandwich from Fred’s Meat and Bread Popup at TGM Bread (North Druid Hills)

Oh how we live for savory sammies, especially ones with delish homemade rapini pesto! Fred’s also adds roasted mushrooms, potato fontina and gooey provolone cheese to make this sammie a true vegetarian’s delight! Pressed between fresh, buttered bread crisped to perfection, you’re gonna love this bad boy, even if you’re obsessed with meat! This pop-up will only be available this summer Tuesdays through Fridays from 11:30am-1:30pm, so make sure you try it before time runs out!
