Best Things We Ate Last Week

btwalw_600x400

One could say it’s always a feeding frenzy at Atlanta Eats’ HQ, but to us, it’s just another hard day at work. We’re showcasing the best things we ate last week to give you some food inspiration for the week ahead. Check out AtlantaEatsTV on InstagramFacebook and Twitter for a constant stream of food porn if this post doesn’t quite cure your fix.

Hickory Burger from Houck’s Grille (Roswell)

We know a good burger when we see (and taste!) one, & Houck’s Hickory Burger definitely fits the bill! Besides being insanely delicious, it’s also rather unique. Think a juicy patty with BBQ sauce, bacon, melted cheddar, crispy tobacco onions & a roasted jalapeño aioli spread generously between a fresh, hot Brioche bun. Served with salty, crispy fries & a pickle spear, you’ll definitely be full after this one! When you stop by to try this beauty, make sure you make a trip to the bar and really hang out at this legendary spot, which was recently reopened after a 15 year hiatus!

Pizza #3 from Vero Pizzeria (Brookhaven)

Have you gotten your slice on this week?! We’re suckers for a good pie, & know we can always head to Vero in Brookhaven to get our pizza fix. Pies crafted just like the ones made in Naples, Italy, Vero uses the freshest ingredients to craft their delicious pizzas. One of our faves is the #3, made with Finocchiona (a type of salami popular in southern Tuscany) sweet peppers, smoked mozzarella & ricotta.  The saltiness of the Finocchiona combined with the sweet bell peppers and the two different types of cheeses makes for a party in your mouth! If you aren’t feeling a pizza, Vero also has small plates, salads & paninis, so you’ve got plenty of other options to enjoy.

Sushi Doughnut from Poke Burri (East Atlanta Village)

This East Atlanta gem inside of the We Suki Suki food court took two of our favorite things and combined them into one! Originally on the secret menu, these sushi doughnuts have now been included within the public version so everyone can enjoy this one of a kind treat! Hand crafted with the freshest ingredients, the doughnut has a white rice base & includes tuna, spicy tuna, crab salad, salmon & avocado. If you’re trying to impress a date, eat it with chopsticks or a fork, but if you’re just chowing down and don’t care who sees you, eat it like you would a regular doughnut! Get in on this foodie trend & try it for yourself…pictures won’t do it justice!
