Bitterly Welcoming Spring With a Cocktail | The Sipologist
I just bought some Galliano and wanted to make something new and interesting with it. It’s weird, but often times Galliano is mixed with very simple juices (OJ, for example) and served as a mild drink. I wanted to take it a bit further. I found a recipe for a drink called the Aperol Wallbanger which utilized both Aperol and Galliano (both Italian aperitifs), and also orange juice. I dropped the Juice, added some Bourbon and Orange bitters and came up with this. I really enjoyed the flavor complexities of this drink. It’s sweet, but strong. If you try it, let me know what you think!
The Orange Banger
1.5 oz. Basil Hayden’s
1 oz. Aperol
.5 oz. Galliano
3 dashes Fee Brothers Orange Bitters
Combine all ingredients in a stirring glass. Add ice and continue to stir. Strain into preferred glass. Enjoy!
