Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at These Mexican Restaurants

Do you smell… tequila? One of the most fun days of the year is quickly approaching! If you’re anything like us, you could eat chips and queso 7 days of the week (even though you know you shouldn’t) and Cinco de Mayo is the perfect excuse to do just that! Check out our list of the best spots to eat, drink, dance and enjoy Cinco de Mayo in ATL all weekend long.

Rock ‘N’ Taco

Rock ‘N’ Taco is hosting the ultimate Cinco de Mayo party this year! Head to Roswell for the weekend long Rock the Block event. Tickets are just $20 and you can hang all day Saturday and Sunday listening to live music, drinking margaritas, and eating tacos to your heart’s content. This spot is always fun, but it’s top notch on May 5. Check out their website for more details on the event.

Muchacho

904 Memorial Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30316

Something that’s always a good idea? A Beltline bar crawl. Start at Muchacho in Reynoldstown and get your fiesta on. They have delicious margs, breakfast tacos and burritos, and a patio that you could easily spend all day on. Muchacho is always a good time, but it hits different for Cinco de Mayo.

Chido and Padres

128 E Andrews Dr NW, Atlanta, GA 30305

One of the most poppin’ outdoor patios in Buckhead has to be Chido and Padres. One of our favorite things about this spot is their happy hour. If you’re down for a more low key Cinco this year, you should check out Chido and Padres. You can still get your marg and guac fix and not be out all night! Between $8 margs and some $5 apps, this is a Mexican happy hour that’s hard to beat.

Guac Y Margys

West Midtown and Beltline locations

Another classic spot to celebrate Cinco de Mayo (or to go get margs on a regular Tuesday) is Guac Y Margys with two locations across town. At the West Midtown location you can get any kind of margarita you desire and get some guac, queso or salsa to go with it. If you want to get a real dinner, the Beltline location is the way to go. Indulge in tacos, nachos, bowls and try their foldies!

Nuevo Laredo

1495 Chattahoochee Ave NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

We couldn’t make a list of our favorite Mexican spots to celebrate Cinco de Mayo without adding the classic Nuevo Laredo. If you truly want a delicious Mexican meal this is the spot to go. Enjoy tortas, fajitas, brisket barbacoa and more great options. There is typically a wait so you may want to go early if Nuevo Laredo is calling your name.

Queso Fundido from Azotea in Atlantic Station

On May 5th from 11 AM – 3 PM, Azotea Cantina will be hosting two food trucks, a live marichia band, a t-shirt and tote bag giveaway, plus $7 tequila shots and $9 housemade margs, plus a DJ on the rooftop!
