Eating on a budget doesn’t have to be lame! Check out some of Mara Davis’ faves shared on Q100’s The Bert Show. You can’t afford NOT to try ’em!
Taquito Express (Chamblee)
It may be in a BP, but this spot serves anything but gas station food! Its breakfast burrito, ringing in at $3, is totally delicious, including egg, chorizo, potatoes and cheese.
Halal Guys (Buford Highway)
This Buford Highway newbie has been welcomed for both its delish food & reasonable prices! You can get a huge portion of awesome food between $6 and $9. Meaty gyros & massive salads will fill you up with goodness on the cheap.
Mighty Casey’s (Winder)
Cheapos rejoice! Everything on the menu here with the exception of 1 item is under $6. If you’re cravin’ some awesome American food on a budget, like a mushroom bacon swiss burger ($5.25), a Nathan’s hotdog ($2.25) or loaded baked potato stew ($4.25), then Mighty’s is your spot.
Just because you’re frugal doesn’t mean ya can’t be fancy! Noni’s is a really great date spot for thrifty romantics. It’s groovy music and cool, artsy atmosphere makes for a great spot to get to know a special someone. We’re big fans of the Noni Sandwich since its got super delicious toppings, including Genoa salami, soppressata, mortadella, provolone, tomato, roasted red pepper, pepperoncini, shredded romaine, house aioli & house vinaigrette on toasted ciabatta. All this for $10…talk about some bang for your buck!
A full steakhouse experience for just $15? Yea, it’s possible if you get the Bones Burger! Accompanied by sexy buttermilk onion rings, you’re not gonna be disappointed.
Marcel (West Midtown)
Another steakhouse with killer cheap burgers! Give Marcel’s late night menu a try and thank us later. A cheeseburger with thick cut bacon goes for a cool $12. Yes, please!
Eats on Ponce has the deal of all deals with super delicious meat & 3 sides for $9! Ponce is one of Atlanta’s trendiest yet more expensive spots, but with prices like this, you won’t feel like you’re missing out on the fun & you can stay in budget. The people watching is also the creme de la creme here, which is the best kind of free entertainment!
Baos from Suzy Siu (Krog Street Market)
2 baos & a side for $9…are you kidding?! These baos are amazing, especially the pork belly one ($4 each). And get this…they’re not fatty or greasy either! Talk about a win-win.
Victory Sandwich Bar (Decatur & Inman Park)
Every sandwich here is delish, and better yet, every sandwich is under $5! Slurp down an economically priced adult beverage with your sammie, like the Boozy Coke Slushie, for a fun outing that won’t break the bank.
Bento Box from Tea House Formosa (Buford Highway)
A bento box for $9.99 that packs in a ton of food! Tea House Formosa has a Hello Kitty themed bento box right now that is taking Instagram by storm. So go ahead…you CAN brag about how cute your cheap food is! We know your friends will be jealous.
