Dump Your Boyfriend or Girlfriend at These Atlanta Restaurants

With the holidays coming up, there is no reason to bring someone home if you know you’re just going to dump them in the new year. Maybe you’re getting bored of them or you just want to be in your single era. Whatever the reason is we’re not here to judge, we’re here to help. These are the qualifications of a restaurant that make it totally break up worthy and hopefully will soften the blow of changing your relationship status to single.

1. The restaurant needs to have a full bar

Getting broken up with and doing the breaking up never gets easier. But what does make tough conversations easier? Alcohol! We recommend making sure you bring your soon to be ex to a restaurant that keeps the drinks flowing whether that’s beer or a gin and tonic.

2. Somewhere with a quick escape route

Once you break the news and talk it out, you’re probably not going to want to hang out too much longer, so it’s important to be somewhere that’s quick and easy to leave. Ideally anything on The Beltline will do the trick so you can run away and never look back. Okay that’s a bit dramatic but you get the point. You don’t want to be waiting outside at the valet together and then have to have another awkward goodbye.

3. A restaurant that is relatively inexpensive

Let’s be honest, you don’t really care to spend a pretty penny on someone that you’re about to end things with. You’re really just at a public place so you can ensure the potential tears and raised voices can be minimized. For that reason, you should probably meet them somewhere that’s relatively inexpensive, maybe they have a happy hour or a deal on Tuesday’s.

4. Some place with quick service

Another key will be to find somewhere that you know has good service so you’re not waiting 20 minutes for the server to come back and take your order. Similarly, this could also be a restaurant where you walk up to the counter and place your order. That way once the food is gone, you can be gone, too.

5. A restaurant on the other side of town

This one is important. You don’t want to go somewhere that’s around the corner from your house or somewhere that the two of you have been multiple times. That just increases the likelihood that you’ll run into each other again. Now unfortunately, we don’t know where you live so we can’t help you too much on this one, but you can take the first four criteria of a good restaurant to break up at to help you think of a place.
