Must Visit Farmer’s Markets Around Atlanta

Food just tastes ~better~ when you know it’s local, and Atlanta’s glorious farmers markets around town are the perfect way to find local produce, baked goods, handmade goods, and more. Here are a few of our favorites that take the chore out of grocery shopping and instead make it a wonderful way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.

1. Brookhaven Farmer’s Market

Saturdays, 9am-12pm
March through November
1375 Fernwood Circle NE

There’s excellent farmer’s markets all over the city, but one of the most enticing ones has to be Brookhaven’s which features over 50 vendors!  Running through all the fair weather months, it’s a lovely way to spend a Saturday.

2. Dunwoody Farmer’s Market

Saturdays, 9am-12pm
March through December
4770 N Peachtree Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338

Happening each Saturday in Brook Run Park, Dunwoody Farmer’s Market is a go-to for fabulously fresh food. And be sure to bring your pup, because their dog park is just a stone’s throw away and the walking trails all throughout the park are wonderful.

3. East Atlanta Village Farmer’s Market

Thursdays, 4:30pm-7pm
April through November
572 Stokeswood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316

If you work weekends or just prefer to sleep in on Saturday mornings, this market is the perfect spot for you! SNAP/EBT is matched two for one; when you spend $10 of EBT, you get $20 worth of fresh, local food. Find this market right across from Midway Pub.

4. Freedom Parkway Farmer’s Market

Saturdays, 8:30am-12pm
Year-Round
453 Freedom Parkway Northeast Atlanta, GA 30307

Get your fix of organic, local products ranging from fresh produce to grass fed meats to handmade baked goods and more. There also is live music and monthly chef demos! You can also use SNAP dollars here.

5. Grant Park Farmer’s Market

Sundays, 9am–1pm
Year-Round
1040 Grant St SE. Atlanta, GA 30315

What may very well be Atlanta’s favorite market has moved to the Beacon Atlanta. There’s also weekly chef demonstrations. You can also bring your pup on leash!

6. Peachtree Road Farmer’s Market

Saturdays 8:30am-12pm
March through December
2744 Peachtree Road, NW Atlanta, Georgia 30305

All of the farms featured are certified organic or naturally grown so there’s no greenwashing here. You can also pre-order foods from your vendor faves to cut down on wait time.

 

7. Piedmont Park Farmer’s Market

Saturdays, 9am-1pm
March through December
1071 Piedmont Ave Ne, Atlanta, GA 30309

Fresh local produce, delicious prepared foods, and beautiful arts and crafts in one of the city’s most beautiful parks? What’s not to love? The market is open rain or shine and moves into the Community Center building when it does rain.

8. Sandy Springs Farmer’s Market

Saturdays, 8:30am-12pm
April through November
1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

Right in the heart of the City Springs development, this farmer’s market has been a hit for Sandy Springs residents. There’s a decent amount of parking available as well. And after you’re done with your shopping, you can grab brunch at the General Muir or The Select

Honorable Mentions: Dekalb Farmer’s Market and Buford Highway Farmer’s Markets

These markets are not outdoor weekly events like the ones above. They are instead more like grocery store set-ups and open all week long, featuring fresh produce at Dekalb and foods from all over the world at Buford Highway Farmer’s Market. They are both can’t miss markets in Atlanta and a favorite of locals!
