Refreshing ATL Smoothies, Smoothie Bowls & Juices You MUST Try!

***The below article is written by @healthy._.harry, a guest blogger for Atlanta Eats***

If anyone has taken the liberty to check out my Instagram, you’ll know that smoothies are my thing. When done right, smoothies and smoothie bowls (thicker blends ate with a spoon and toppings) can be a delicious and healthy dessert replacement that, for me, mimic milkshakes. Not to mention they’re a great way to squeeze in some dense, easily absorbable nutrients into your diet. Being what I would consider a veteran in the smoothie department, I decided to feature some of my favorite juicebars and menu items that you can trust are sweet, savory, dessert-like…yet healthy!

Deluxe Acai Bowl at Kale Me Crazy (Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, East Cobb, Inman Park, Midtown, Roswell, Sandy Springs & Virginia Highlands)

Kale Me Crazy stores are literally popping up everywhere in Atlanta (there is a God!), so there’s bound to be one nearby regardless of where you are. This has got to be my favorite acai bowl in Atlanta. For those that don’t know, acai is the new black. It’s a berry originating from Brazil that is jam-packed with antioxidants and bursting with sweetness that makes smoothies taste like candy. Between the smoothie base and tons of toppings, this is one of the most nutrient-dense snacks or meal replacements that Atlanta has to offer. Shout out to the creepy guy I met at a bar who later left me a Kale Me Crazy gift card in my room…keep those coming, thanks.

Acai Bowl at Lucky Lotus (Ponce City Market)

The acai bowl at Lucky Lotus is in sorbet form and a perfect healthy substitution for those that are trying to wean off of ice cream. And no, that is not a black bottle, it was actually transparent and the black is the color of the juice I also bought. There are many options to choose from, but I ultimately decided on this lemon, activated charcoal juice that supposedly wipes you of any toxins. They have other sweeter juice options as well that are great replacements to more unnatural sugar-sweetened beverages you’d buy otherwise.

The Warrior and Green Bowl at Vitality Bowls (Midtown)

It’s in the name…this is the PLACE for smoothie bowls! Vitality Bowls has endless options…you can even create your own bowl or add and subtract ingredients from already existing menu items as you’d like…they are super flexible and accommodating! My friend got the Warrior Bowl and added peanut butter for some protein and flavor boost and I went with the Green Bowl but swapped out strawberries for pineapple. These things are loaded with nutrients, flavors and toppings. Definitely one of the thickest smoothie bowls in Atlanta…it makes you feel like you’re eating ice cream!

Fat Burner and Mango Zinger at Rawesome Juicery (Downtown)

Rawesome Juicery is located inside Sweet Auburn Curb Market, a really fun kind of indoor farmers market with a lot of other great vendors and fresh produce. The Fat Burner consists of juiced grapefruit, lemon, ginger and cayenne pepper and wow…is it hot! I personally like it hot (*wink*) and knew what I was getting myself into, but definitely proceed with caution…my eyes were watering from that cayenne. The Mango Zinger is also one of my all time favorites: blended mango, peach, spinach, ginger and I always like to add a banana because I love bananas (no pun intended). Some of the best quality juices and smoothies Atlanta has to offer!
