Nick’s Food to Go Lamb Gyro
An Atlanta classic, Nick’s Food To Go has been serving some of the city’s best gyro’s in a no frills atmosphere – the sandwiches are handheld after all, perfect for eating on the hood of your car. You can find them East of the Capitol building on MLK and while the outside is modest, the meals are magnificent. They have an amazing tzatziki sauce and delicious lamb, but they also make pitas with beef, pork, falafel, grilled chicken, fried chicken and veggies.

Taverna Plaka
This Buckhead Greek mainstay knows how to throw a good party – head there on a Saturday night and you’ll see napkins thrown, plates smashed and shots lit on fire. But you’ll also get authentic, delicious Mediterranean fare – including a mouthwatering, shaved roasted lamb plate served with pita, tzatziki, and a small Greek salad. Opa!

Lamb Shack
Chef Pano Karatassos isn’t just known throughout Atlanta – he’s renowned throughout the country after beating Bobby Flay and heading up one of Atlanta’s most recognized restaurant groups, Buckhead Life. During the pandemic, he created Lamb Shack – a ghost kitchen that’s run out of Karatssos’ lauded Kyma restaurant. You can build delicious pita sandwiches and have them delivered right to your door with lamb, pork, chicken, salmon or tofu.

Pita Mediterranean Street Food
This ATL-based Mediterranean chain has been popping up new stores throughout the Southeast over the past two years and for good reason. They make delicious, fresh shaved shwarma sandwiches with fluffy mouthwatering pita at every location. Look for a Pita near you and make it a regular go to for lunch or dinner.
