The Best Irish Pubs in Atlanta
When Arthur Guinness created “The Black Stuff”, did he know that sipping his stout in an Irish Pub would be a beautifully blissful experience? Especially when it’s served at the perfect 42.8 °F temperature. That, combined with a plate of Fish and Chips or an Irish breakfast, along with a great game on TV, can make for a perfect Saturday or Sunday. Whether it’s St. Patrick’s Day or a sunny day in September, here’s a few of the Best Irish Pubs in Atlanta.

1. FADO
(Multiple Locations – see website for details)
If you’re new to Atlanta, you may already know Fado. They have locations in Chicago, Philadelphia and Columbus, OH but they started right here in Atlanta. That’s why they put so much care into programming great events, having great meals and creating a great space in their Buckhead and Midtown locations. The Buckhead patio, in particular, is a great place to spend on a sunny afternoon with Man’s best friend or your actual best friend. The Reuben is really, really good along with the Irish breakfast, smoked salmon bites and more from the menu. Head to Fado for your next football match – whichever version you want to watch. The crowds are great for both – especially if you’re a Liverpool fan!
2. Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub
12650 Crabapple Rd #100,
Milton, GA 30004
(678) 624-1090
We covered Olde Blind Dog’s Brookhaven location on Atlanta Eats and while they had a great 10 years there, that location has closed. Nonetheless, they’re still going strong in Milton and putting the same great care into everything they do. Specifically, when it comes to that perfect Guinness temperature – bring a thermometer and test them, we dare you!

3. Mac McGee’s Irish Pub
(Multiple Locations – see website for details)
This Irish pub with its original location in downtown Roswell is also at the Battery, providing a great space for Braves fans to grab a Guinness or a bite before the game. Try their deep fried Scotch Eggs, Guinness Beef Stew, or our personal favorite – the Irish Dip with Thinly sliced roast beef, bourbon demiglace, Irish cheddar and Guinness gravy.
4. Meehan’s Public House
(Multiple Locations – see website for details)
With locations in Vinings and Midtown, lots of folks around Atlanta have access to great food – one of the defining features at Meehan’s. The Reuben Egg Rolls are a great way to get a bite of a big Reuben sandwich without filling up – which is important, because you’ll need room for their excellent entrees. Try the Shepherd’s Pie with leg of lamb braised in Guinness and served in a red wine gravy, or the Bangers and Mash with 3 savory pork bangers (sausages), mashed potatoes, peas, mushrooms, onions and that same, delicious red wine gravy.

5. Limerick Junction
822 North Highland Avenue Northeast,
Atlanta, GA 30306
(404) 874-7147
Limerick Junction has the distinction of being the grandaddy of all Irish Pubs – they’ve been in operation since 1988, making them the oldest Irish Pub in Atlanta. The pub comes from good lineage – they count Joe of “Moe’s and Joe’s” in Virginia Highlands fame as one of the founders – and the name invokes Atlanta’s history as well, making it a downright iconic part of the city. The food and service is still fantastic after all these years – our new favorite there may be the Irish Sliders – mini Angus burgers with rasher (thin slice of bacon), cheddar cheese and parsley aioli. Come by to watch a game, just make sure your favorite team isn’t playing Everton!

6. The Marlay House
426 W. Ponce de Leon Ave
Decatur, GA 30030
(404) 270-9950
Thanks to its location in Decatur and a hearty list of events, every night of the week at the Marlay House is a blast. There’s always a vibrant crowd inside, but the place really comes alive in the summer – and on Tuesday nights when live Irish Music is played. They have a great crowd for Thursday trivia, too, along with your Saturday morning rugby and footie fans. In fact, their brunch menu is our favorite – try the full on Irish breakfast with rashers, black and white pudding and beans and toast, or the Brisket and eggs with Guinness braised beef brisket.
