We couldn’t mention a delicious hot pot place without finding one in Buford Highway. J’s Mini Hot Pot deluxe fits the bill (they also have a location in Duluth). They advertise as a typical Chinese hot pot restaurant, but all the ingredients are provided raw for you to add to your soup, Shabu Shabu style. They have great broth options, including an incredible miso based broth that is the perfect ocean of deliciousness to dip your shrimp dumpling into.

This classic Buckhead restaurant has been a place for parties and other special events for decades. But their best kept secret may be the “Shabu-Shabu” Fondue. The dish uses a Japanese “Kobe” broth and they bring out super thin slices of sirloin, along with tofu, noodles and seasonal veggies. Order the fondue for two the next time you visit Nakato.
