Everyone deserves a slice of authentic, New York style pizza – whether they’ve been to “The City” or not. Luckily, Cumming has Annunziata’s Pizza, which serves up incredible, fold-able slices of heaven. Dig in to the chicken parm pie for something hearty or try the white pie if you’re looking for something on the creamier side. Lunchtime subs are also a highlight, along with the calzones/strombolis if you’ve worked up an appetite.

All of metro Atlanta has been sleeping on this excellent Cumming Cuban spot. Coco’s Cuban Restaurant has fantastic tostones, a perfect, fork tender pernil, delicious Cuban sandwiches and a rapturous ropa vieja. Don’t sleep on dessert either for the sweet tooth – they’ve got every Cuban confection you can think of – flan, tres leches, cake, guava and cheese pastries and more.

Some of the best Mexican places in the country are modest on the outside but with mouthwatering food on the inside, and El Rio seems to fit the bill well. With a Tex Mex style menu, they’ve got hearty portions of everything you could think of – burritos, enchiladas, street tacos, nachos and quesadillas. The chorizo dip is an excellent way to kick things off, and if you’re protein-forward you’ve gotta get the Molcajete – it’s shrimp, steak, chorizo, grilled chicken, salsa de casa, grilled cactus and onion topped with melted chihuahua cheese. They serve it with tortillas and garnish it​ with a cheese quesadilla and a chile toreado.

This is a concept that deserves more hype. FastWey has launched the idea of the “Mexican Pizza” – taking traditional Mexican ingredients and flavors and using the canvas of pizza to deliver them. The results are incredible. They use bases like refried beans, mole sauce, buffalo and more, to create incredible carnitas pizzas, pastor pizzas, carne asada pizzas and more. In addition to all this mouthwatering innovation, they also have everything you’d want in both a Mexican and Pizza place – including traditional pizzas, tacos, burritos and wings.

Sprechen se savory? Gasthaus Tirol in Cumming is one of the best restaurants in the area in addition to being one of the best German restaurants in the state! Interiors feel like you’re a dinner guest at someone’s home in the best way possible, while Chef Reinhold Weger is keeping the output of his kitchen world class. They (of course) have great beer selections and can suggest pairings for whatever you order off the menu. Head early to grab a seat at the lovely “biergarten” in the back.

Cumming’s neighborhood Italian spot since 1991, Giorgio’s makes consistent, excellent Italian and Mediterranean dishes for local families 7 days a week. They have excellent traditional pasta and baked pasta dishes, including Fettuccine Alfredo, Rigatoni, Lasagna, and Tortellini along with great Greek options like Gyros, Souvlaki, Lamb and more. They also make pizzas, calzones and strombolis – all customizable to your heart’s desire.

When it comes to live music, there may not be a better venue in Cumming than Good Ol’ Days. The menu reflects their love of live acts, with options like “The Opening Acts” (appetizers including pickles chips, nachos and more), “The Headliners” (creative entrees like a Chicken Pot Pie Burrito, a Guinness marinated burger, a bacon wrapped hot dog and more), and “The Encore” (a rotating dessert of the month). Few gastropubs put this much effort in the menu – it’s worth giving a try to everything they have to offer.

An authentic Tex-Mex restaurant in the heart of Cumming, Los Rios has been won the “Best of Forsyth” award for best Mexican food multiple times since their opening in 2009. They’re family operated and have incredible sizzling fajitas, terrific tacos and the best Margaritas in all of Forsyth. The menu is extensive, so make sure you don’t miss some of their mouthwatering Mexican entrees like Carne Asada steak, Pollo Fundido and more.

The best sandwich shop in Cumming is Marie’s Italian Deli – but they’re also the best Italian bakery. With a focus on the traditional Italian pastries you’d find in the Northeastern part of the country, they make incredible baked goods daily. They have Cold Subs including an Italian and Muffaletta, along with Hot Subs like a Meatball and Italian sausage. It’s like the entire state of New Jersey came down to Cumming and decided to open up Marie’s.

A relative newcomer to the scene, Mary Lucille’s is a bakery focused on Southern favorites and a tea focused experience. For special occasions, you can rent out their exclusive tearoom where you can “experience a British traditional high tea with a Southern twist”. But for those who want to pop in for a pastry, they make breads, biscuits, scones, and rolls along with sweeter treats like brownies, petit fours, cupcakes and more. They also make sweet and savory pies daily so check to see what the latest flavors are.

You’d expect a place like Rooster’s to have pretty good wings. You wouldn’t be wrong. Rooster’s Cafe has the best wings in Cumming, with six varying degrees of heat that are ALL delicious. They’ve got great burgers, and all the bar appetizers you love to come back for like potato skins, cheese sticks, chicken tenders and more. Rooster’s is one of the best places in Cumming for a bite, a beer and the ballgame on a TV.

Everyone in Cumming loves Socks Love. An incredible BBQ restaurant with smoked brisket, chicken, sausage, pork and turkey, the Texas influence is strong with these ones (they even have a Frito Chili Pie for chrissakes). Like any BBQ place worth their salt, they’ve bottled their seasonings, rubs and sauces, so if you love it as much as we did, you’ll be able to bring a little bit home with you year round.

Tam’s Tupelo restaurant is inspired by the mighty Mississippi Delta all the way down to New Orleans. It’s no surprise then that you’ll find a menu full of dishes like Jambalaya, Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee and a Louisiana Pasta. Make no mistake though, they are experts at what they do – every dish is full of FLAVOR. They have a second location, Tam’s Backstage, that’s located beneath downtown’s historic School Street Playhouse, that focuses more on Mediterranean flavors but is nonetheless just as delicious as Tam’s Tupelo.
