Urban Bourbon Manhattan Recipe

Bring on the Bourbon! We’re making an Urban Bourbon Manhattan recipe on this episode of the Mix, all while learning about Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail and history. Luckily, we have Louisville native Julie Smith to walk us through a bourbon flight, tell us all about her hometown (including details about a ghost named Willie) and why Carrie Nation gets a shoutout on the All Nations Bourbon bottle. Ingredients

1 oz Bardstown Bourbon
1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 Shakes Bitters
Orange Peel Twist
Luxardo Cherry

Instructions

Step 1: Fill a glass half to 3/4 with ice
Step 2: Add 1 oz of Bardstown Bourbon
Step 3: Add 1/2 oz of Sweet Vermouth
Step 4: Add 2 dashes of Bitters and stir
Step 5: Cut orange twist
Step 6: Rub orange twist around rim of glass (coupe glass preferably)
Step 7: Drop orange twist into glass
Step 8: Pour chilled drink into glass
Step 9: Garnish with Luxardo Cherry
