New Years Eve Late Night Restaurants

New Years Eve plans can be stressful, let alone figuring out where to eat afterwards! Whether you want a big burrito, a gyro, or even a beef stroganoff, these spots have you covered! We at Atlanta Eats know the struggle all too well and have compiled a list of some of our top picks around the city to help curb that New Years Day hangover!

The Landmark Diner (Buckhead and Downtown)The historic Landmark Diner has been shelling out classics for years. Open since 1994 and open 24/7, this spot serves up incredible breakfast, Grecian specialties & decadent baked goods. If you’re itching for a certain dish, there’s a really good chance the Diner will have it and can help you satisfy that craving!

Cypress Street Pint and Plate (Midtown): Cyprus Street is an Atlanta Eats late night fave for post-bar bites. Our favorite drunk “munchies” has to be their ATL Poutine. A southern twist on an American classic, these hand cut fries are topped with pulled pork, Monterey jack cheese, jalapeno coleslaw, and Cypress’ own BBQ sauce. These fries will help you ring in the new year right! Cypress will be open New Years Eve from 10:00 am until 3:00 am with a midnight champagne toast, half-priced apps & no cover charge! They’ll also be open for brunch on New Years Day from 10:00am – 3:00 pm.

There, a bar and eatery (Brookhaven): A gastro pub that pays just as much attention to its food as its beer selection, There has something everyone will love. From the cajun approved etouffee to an insane bison burger, as well as locally sourced vegetables grown a quarter acre away from the restaurant, the menu is as farm-to-tale as it gets. A champagne toast will take place at midnight, and the bar will be open until 2:00 am. New Years Day brunch will also be served, featuring bottomless mimosas, Atlanta’s Best Bloody & live jazz from Bill Norman & The Carnegie Hall Jazz Ensemble!

The Highlander (Virginia Highlands): Voted one of the “Best Bars in Atlanta” and featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives,” The Highlander serves up some of the best food in the city day or night. The eclectic menu chalk full of specialties that you wouldn’t expect to find in a Virginia Highland’s dive sets this spot apart. Munch on goodies like “pasta-rella sticks”, a traditional mozzarella stick wrapped in fresh pasta and golden fried! Also check out the chicken pot pie, Bahn Mi, and even the beef stroganoff for a surprisingly gourmet late night treat. The Highlander will be open on Saturday from 11:00 am until 3:00 am and will be giving out champagne at midnight! They’ll also be open New Years Day from 12:30 pm until 12:00 am.

El Ray Del Taco (Doraville): El Ray Del Taco is one of the most authentic Mexican joints in the country, and we are lucky enough to have a location of our very own on Buford Highway! The tortillas are handmade right in front of you & the combinations of protein and spice are unrivaled in the city. Totally worth the Uber ride to Doraville, El Ray Del Taco has so many options to choose from. Fill your burrito or quesadilla with flank steak, chorizo, or even goat! Make sure you save room for the chips, salsa, & queso as they are some of the city’s best. This spot will be open until 5:00 am on Saturday & on Sunday from 10:00 am until 4:00 am.

Canton Buddha (Buckhead): Our late night list would not be complete without including some Chinese. Canton Buddha has a booming dine-in, take-out & delivery service, so you CAN get your Chinese food fix this NYE! Some of our favorite dishes? The Mongolian beef is savory and sweet, the pork Lo Mein is authentic and filling & the vegetable Egg Fu Young is an instant classic. No need to leave the bar early because this spot, located right in the heart of Buckhead on Peachtree, is open until 4:00 am on New Years Eve! They’ll also be open on New Years Day from 2:30 pm until 10:00 pm.
