What I Eat

The Atlanta culinary community is a lot closer-knit than you’d think. Chefs stop by other restaurants to see what their friends (and sometimes rivals) are cooking up. So where do chefs go when they’re not making food for you?

Marc Taft – Chicken and the Egg

While chef Taft would much prefer to be at home on his night off, he can sometimes be found checking out Table and Main in Roswell, and Seed (coming up in a future episode) in Marietta. When he comes ITP he heads to JCT. Kitchen, or to No. 246, which feature sustainable and locally sourced ingredients like Chef Taft’s other destination, 4th and Swift.

Chas d’Huyvetter – Moxie Burger

Chas like to try a little bit of everything, including Egg Harbor in John’s Creek and La Grotta (Perimeter or Buckhead, you pick).

Robert Holley – Atlanta Fish Market

Dining out with his family, Chef Holley doesn’t always go out to fancy restaurants, but hen he does he keeps it simple: Buckhead Diner, Hong Kong Harbor on Cheshire Bridge, Maggiano’s, or just something new.

Ian Winslade – Murphy’s

When your passion is for checking out new places, favorites don’t really get an opportunity to rise to the top, but Chef Winslade did tell us he likes Miller Union in West Midtown, Drew Belline’s old kitchen, Floataway Cafe, The Optimist, and Kyma.
