We recently teamed up with Atlanta Beer Aficianado Ale Sharpton and Tower to take a closer look at six local breweries, and while it may not be the “most ambitious crossover in history” it’s up there. That’s why we asked Ale to compare the six breweries we visited to the characters in Marvel’s record breaking Avengers: Infinity War. “Sweetwater would be the Hulk. I say that because the Hulk will let nothing get in his way. You keep making him angrier, he only gets stronger. Some people say “Yeah, Sweetwater is all over the place – whatever.” But at the end of the day, they say “Yeah ok, but we’re still not mainstream and we’ll show you.” And they’ll come out with something really quick and quirky, and be different just to let you know.”
“Iron Man would be Red Brick because he’s been around for a long time, but he still keeps going. Damn, even an actor like Downey who’s playing him, that dude has been around for years. He’s the most veteran actor of the whole group and he’s still going strong.”
“I think the Black Panther is Second Self. That’s saying a lot, but I want to give them a shout out for having an African American female brewer. They’re about opportunity, so I’m with that.”
“We’ll make New Realm Spider-Man because here’s the dope thing with that. Spider-Man has been around for years as has Mitch Steele (New Realm Brewmaster), but now he’s spreading his wings and showing new technology and new styles of beer, and in the same way Spider-Man has those legs come out, so that’s new.”
“Monday Night is like ALL of the Guardians of the Galaxy because they have lots of different personalities and they’re hilarious. Whatever they do is killer. From women to men, everyone has their own big personalities when they come together to save the universe.”
“Orpheus is like Doctor Strange. You don’t know what they are going to come out with next. But they are very personable, which he is. Sometimes the beer can be really magical.”
