Atlanta Food & Drink Events Week of April 10

What a diverse week of events we have ahead of us. National Grilled Cheese Day is a thing that’s happening, plus celebrity chefs showing us what’s up with the South African braii, food trucks, farmer’s markets & more!

Tuesday, April 11 | 6:30pm | Murphy’s Restaurant

Whether you’re a connosieur of grape Syrah or choose your wines based on how cool the bottle label looks, consider learning more about the vintages that come out of France’s Northern Rhone region. The Northern Rhone produces wine unlike any other region in the world, making this tasting a worthwhile experience. Grab your tickets here.

Consider grabbing a bite to eat before or after your tasting. Check out our favorites!

Wednesday, April 12 | 5:00pm | Cooks & Soldiers

We’ve been counting down until National Grilled Cheese Day for 364 days! And it’s finally here. There’s a grilled cheese party going down at Cooks & Soldiers, home of the famous Bikini grilled cheese. In honor of this oh-so-important national holiday, Cooks & Soldiers is offering, in addition to the traditional white American, Iberian ham, and black truffle Bikini, a “breakfast Bikini,” which is topped with even more ooey-gooey melted cheese and a sunny-side-up egg.

Both sandwiches cost $16. Reservations are recommended. Call 404.996.2623.

Wednesday, April 12 | 7:30-9:00pm | Shep’s Midtown ACE

Grilling is awesome. Braai-ing is on a whole other level. Join celebrity chef Kevin Gillespie at Shep’s Midtown ACE Hardware and learn his favorite recipes and cooking techniques using the South African KUDU Safari Braai. Enjoy plenty of food (the menu includes things like grilled oyster mushroom toast with mascarpone and hot giariniera, grilled pork tenderloin with Spanish-style garlic shrimp and blackberry cobbler) plenty of booze, and plenty of good times.

Call 404.228.2291 for info about tickets.

Thursday, April 13 | 6:00pm-8:00pm | JAI HO Atlanta

Some of Atlanta’s most sought after Indian cuisine coupled with J.R. Revelry Bourbon Whiskey. Sounds like a match made in heaven to us. Expand your palate at this unique food and whiskey pairing event, featuring Bombay chowpatty sliders, cashew-encrusted green tomato BBQ pulled Tandoori chicken, and orange & chili machlee.
