Our Favorite Atlanta Margaritas

Last Updated- May 4, 2023

No matter how many times you swear off tequila, there’s no way you can’t resist an ice-cold margarita. Whether on the rocks or a frozen treat, this is the drink of choice for your favorite May holiday. Celebrate Cinco De Mayo with more than one cup; get a pitcher and a group of friends together to make a party out of the occasion! Sick of the same-old, same-old watering hole? Here are our suggestions of where to grab a citrus- infused beverage…

No Mas! Cantina

Order the Mango Habanero Margarita made with tequila, fresh mango puree, lime juice, a splash of habanero and a chili-lime salted rim. It’s beautiful, spicy and will probably knock your socks off.

Twisted Taco

They claim to have “the world’s best margaritas”, and boy, do they have a variety of them! You can’t go wrong with any of the 12 pitcher options, but we recommend ordering something adventurous like their Spicy Mexican Margarita with tequila, cactus juice liqueur, orange liqueur and fresh jalapenos.

Nuevo Laredo

Before you dive into Nuevo Laredo’s insane lobster tacos, order a round of classic Mexican margaritas! The Cadillac Margarita Grande’s fancy name makes the premium tequila taste even better!

La Parilla

If you want to take it to the next level this margarita Monday, La Parilla takes you there and BEYOND! They sell 60 oz margaritas in all their stores! (It’s not the only size option, but it’s one heck of an order!) Try a Prickly Pear or Guava Margarita to set your week straight.

Taqueria Del Sol

For a margarita so strong it makes you deny it’s even Monday, go to Taqueria Del Sol. Their House, Texas and Westside (made with Herradura Reposado and Patron Citronoge) margaritas are all available by the pitcher, but feel free to customize your own if you want to order by the glass instead.

The Original El Taco

The Original El Taco prides itself with all fresh squeezed juices and sours for their variety of margaritas. Shake up your night with a Key West Margarita, filled with Antiguo Reposado, Orangeville and Key lime.

Bulla Gastrobar

Have you ever had a Spanish Margarita? Whether or not you have, hit up Bulla and order one! It’s got all the usual marg components (tequila, triple sec, lime juice) but they add the nutty flavor of Amontillado Sherry. Bulla also offers margs of the Lavender Margarita and Passion Jalapeño varieties. Just wait until you see how well tapas pair with margaritas.

Gezzo’s House Margarita and Island Bonfire | Gezzo’s Coastal Cantina

Gezzo’s Coastal Cantina

One of the newest and hottest spots in West Midtown, Gezzo’s Coastal Cantina has a jam-packed menu of inspired takes on West Coast Mexican staples like burritos, tacos, and nachos (you haven’t lived until you’ve devoured their Teriyaki Chicken Burrito). Naturally their drinks are just as creative and fantastic. They have a full margarita section of the menu, including the vanilla-almond Te Fiti, the mango-habanero Island Bonfire, and of course the Gezzo’s House Margarita. Grab a seat on either of the two patios (or the swings at the bar) and enjoy a round or more.

Bartaco

Feel the laid-back Monday vibe and take a seat at Bartaco. Their signature marg combines the classic ingredients of Maestro Dobel Reposado, agave syrup and lime juice with a bit of Cambier liqueur d’orange for a kick.

Bone Garden Cantina

If you want to take your tequila affinity to the next level, head to Bone Garden Cantina for their Hot Chile Margarita. They use spicy habanero-infused tequila, orange liqueur, sweet & sour and hot sauce for a fiery glass-full. Their House and Chef’s Texas Margaritas are available by the pitcher.

Pure Taqueria

Pure Taqueria’s list of 17 margaritas is impressive but also a tad overwhelming if you haven’t tried them all! Pro tip- you can’t order wrong, so don’t put the pressure on yourself! Quite a few are offered on the rocks or frozen, so maybe order one round of each. For something refreshing, try one of their fruit nectar varieties with either peach, strawberry, mango or banana!
