You’ll Never Have a More Relaxing Weekend than with these 6 Atlanta Spots

There’s always a hot new restaurant to try or a fun party going on in ATL, but sometimes you just want to take a break from the hustle and bustle and do something that’s more low-key.  Here are our 6 recommendations for relaxing activities (and eats) in and just out of Atlanta!

1. Have a quiet drink at Atlantic Grill in Atlantic Station.

We love the chill, neighborhood bar vibes at Atlantic Grill, a perfect spot to catch the game or enjoy a beer by yourself or with a buddy on a rainy day. It’s a great and unexpected find in the busier but fun scene at Atlantic Station. Atlantic Grill could also be a perfect hideout for Dad to take a breather at during a family shopping outing!

2. Pamper yourself with a spa treatment at Dahlonega Resort & Vineyard and enjoy a wine tasting at Kaya Vineyards.

There’s not a lot of things more relaxing than a low-key weekend getaway, especially one that’s just an hour and a half drive away from Atlanta. Stay at Dahlonega Resort and you can enjoy a luxurious Milk and Honey Holistic massage that incorporates their fresh Honey Magnolia Body Oil and Whipped Honey Heel Scrub. Follow that up with a winery tour at the beautiful Kaya Vineyards & Winery where you can take in the most breathtaking panoramic mountain view in North Georgia. You’ll return home feeling relaxed, refreshed, and energized.

3. Try Kundalini yoga and a grain bowl at Sama Food for Balance to refresh and reset.

We are huge fans of Sama Food for Balance–their flavorful and delicious bowls are great fare whenever we need to balance out our usual diets of burgers and BBQ. Nourish yourself with their Vata Bowl, filled with brown basmati rice and seared salmon, then channel your inner hippie with their Kundalini yoga and Sound Bath classes. After your meal and meditation session, you’ll understand “the beauty of doing nothing.”

4. Sip on the Mocha Caliente at Hodgepodge.

Cozy up with a book at Hodgepodge in East Atlanta or get a great study sesh in. Ample seating and cool, eclectic artwork help Hodgepodge stand out from the rest. Try the “Mocha Caliente,” made with Ghirardelli chocolate, cinnamon and a dash of cayenne!

5. Share a tea with a friend at Just Add Honey tea shop.

You can find a little peace and quiet right off the Beltline at the Just Add Honey tea shop, owned by Brandi and Jermail Shelton. They have the coziest of seating and an ample selection of teas that make this a wonderful spot to catch up with a friend.

6. Enjoy some sweet treats at Café Vendôme.

Feel like you’ve stepped right into Paris with a trip to Café Vendôme. Enjoy their savory goat cheese quiche, sample authentic French pastries, and sip on a latte at this laidback café in Sandy Springs. We especially love their eclairs and hot tartine!
