10 Places To Get Thanksgiving To-Go

Whoever thinks Thanksgiving is relaxing has clearly never been in charge of cooking the meal.

You’re worried about sourcing a turkey (it weighs how much?!), choosing sides and appetizers (do people actually like cranberry sauce?), figuring out seating for your visitors (will Cousin Kyle be offended he’s at the kid’s table?), and preparing for the monsoon of dishes you’ll have to wash (Siri: how do I clean a dish coated with burned mac and cheese?).

On top of that, the food might flat out suck. Your turkey might be dry. Your stuffing could be soggy. And maybe that casserole you saw on TikTok didn’t quite translate to your kitchen.

Luckily, there are restaurants all over the Atlanta area who want to take over the hard part for you and handle the cooking, letting you focus on watching football and debating politics with the family (ah, the holidays!)

Here are some of those places helping to make your Thanksgiving stress-free.

Local Three

The food at Local Three is hard to define in terms other than “delicious”. It’s a relaxed yet creative take on refined American style cuisine, with comforting cocktails to boot. It’s exactly the kind of place you can trust to make your Thanksgiving meal one to remember.

What You Get:

You can either opt for the full Family Feast or choose your items à la carte. The Family Feast includes your choice of a turkey or a spiral cut ham, along with a whole lotta sides, including but not limited to: collard greens, whipped brown butter sweet potatoes, four-cheese mac and cheese, creamy whipped potatoes, and Grateful Bread yeast rolls (I mainly included those for the name). The full feast is $599, which may seem steep until you realize it feeds up to 18 people, which shakes out to roughly $33 a head.

What You Need to Know:

There are pickup times available every half hour from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 23rd or Wednesday, November 24th. The cutoff time for you to place your order is 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17th so make sure you place yours here ASAP!

DBA Barbecue- BBQ platter | Photo: Facebook

DBA Barbecue

When you think about unbelievably tasty BBQ, chances are your first thought is a shack in the middle of nowhere rather than an air-conditioned restaurant in Virginia Highlands. But DBA Barbecue is no joke when it comes to brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings, or turkey. Their turkey is so good, in fact, that it’s ready to be the star of your Thanksgiving table.

What You Get:

Barbecue plus Thanksgiving can only mean smoked turkey, and DBA has you covered with either a whole one or sliced turkey breast that you can buy by the pound. The full Turkey Package includes a turkey, several classic sides, gravy, and relish. You can also opt for a few options for your pre-meal noshes, like pimento cheese and corn cheese muffins with honey butter.

What You Need to Know:

All orders require a 48-hour notice (smoking an entire turkey takes time!) and can be placed either here or by emailing catering@dbabbq.com

The Select

Located right at the heart of Sandy Springs, The Select was inspired by Le Select, the 1920s Parisian bistro where Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Gertrude Stein used to meet for some progressive intellectual discourse. This same degree of sophistication rings true at this restaurant, offering up French-inspired food made with love and care, much like a Thanksgiving meal should be.

What You Get

The Family Style Meal is jam-packed with the traditional and the unexpected. You can opt for the classic turkey or throw your Thanksgiving dinner for a twist and get the rich porchetta instead. In addition to the timeless sides, such as stuffing and sweet potato casserole, you can make your meal a cozy affair with either onion or butternut squash soup. The meal is priced based on the number of people you’re feeding so you can count on a reasonably priced meal that’ll leave every stomach satisfied.

For only $150, you can get a meal for 4-6 (or two VERY hungry people). This meal includes: a whole turkey brined for 24 hours with a smoked paprika rub, as well as 3 sides: manchego au gratin potatoes, mushroom stuffing, and roasted brussels sprouts and a sweet potato pie. The sides are packaged in casserole dishes for easy reheating. You can also throw in a bottle of wine selected by their in-house sommelier for $40.

Drawbar

Drawbar at the Bellyard Hotel

When it comes to comfort food to enjoy at home, hotel fare is probably at the bottom of your list. But the Bellyard isn’t like other hotels; their Drawbar restaurant serves up incredibly flavorful food, from their brunch to their tailgate grub, not to mention their Thanksgiving spread.

What You Get:

For those Thanksgiving gatherings that are a little more intimate, Bellyard offers a Thanksgiving meal for 2 or for 4. No matter how big your party will be, you’ll start with choosing a protein: a citrus-roasted turkey or chicken or a rosemary prime rib loin. Then pick your poison for your sides: whipped potatoes, garlic green beans, maple baked sweet potatoes, buttered broccoli, or baked 3-cheese mac and cheese.  Finally, select a dessert (or two) between sweet potato pie, apple pie, and chocolate brownies. All meals come with a fresh harvest salad and dinner rolls.

Tucker Brewing Company

There’s no place quite as welcoming as a local brewery, and Tucker Brewing Company is no exception. If you find yourself around the Tucker area, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better hangout spot than their 8,500-square-foot beer garden. They also happen to serve fantastic German food, a level of quality that carries over to their Thanksgiving offerings.

What You Get:

Take your pick of any combination of entrees, sides, and desserts. Each serves 4-6 people and includes reheating instructions. Highlights include: braised short ribs, wild mushroom green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie.

This restaurant group is one of the finest in Atlanta, one of those where you see the full list and think, “Wow, all of those?!” That list is: Bar Mercado, Recess, Cooks & Soldiers, Double Zero, Sugo, Mujō, and The Iberian Pig. See what I mean? With such a fine lineup of eateries, you already know their Thanksgiving meal is going to be off the charts.

Table & Main

There’s a lot to love about Canton Street, Roswell’s version of Bourbon or Beale Street, with dozens of places to eat, drink, and be merry. Table & Main is a southern tavern serving up to-die-for fried chicken, succulent shrimp and grits, and an extensive bourbon bar. It should come as no surprise that their Thanksgiving is equally craveworthy.

What You Get:

You can either grab a meal for 4 or for 6, or go the à la carte way of life (each of these items serves 4). These offerings include garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, and a smoked turkey with turkey giblet roasted gravy. And don’t be afraid to ask about wine additions!
