Atlanta’s Best Pottery and Art Studios (and a Great Place to Eat Near Each One)

Art is for everyone. At least, that’s the idea at the best pottery and art studios you’ll find around Atlanta. They’re all conveniently located places for you to express yourself (and maybe get a neat little plate out of it, too).  We’ve put together a list of the best below.  And after you’ve worked up an appetite getting creative, we’ve also suggested some places conveniently located nearby each studio where you can get a bite.

Let’s hang out at the mall – and paint some mugs, while we’re at it. ABC Pottery is located right in Sugarloaf Mills Mall between Duluth and Lawrenceville, giving folks in North and Northeast Atlanta a convenient place to flex their right brain. They have great group party options outside of just pottery including canvas painting and acrylic.

All Fired Up

Multiple Locations – Alpharetta, Emory Village, Sandy Plains
At All Fired Up, you’ll find 700 different pottery items and 50 colors to choose from – along with specialty glazes that can be purchased separately. After you’ve painted your perfect piece of pottery, you can pick it up in a week. They also host parties of all shapes and sizes – for kids birthdays, baby and bridal showers, corporate events, scouts and more.

While some pottery places appeal to the wine crowd, Creativity Cafe is all about family. They have Sunday morning kids art sessions and host Kids Night Out where parents can squeeze in a date night at a nearby restaurant (see below for a suggestion). They aren’t totally dry – ask about their adult painting parties as well.

With maybe the most charming interiors of any art studio on this list, Eye Candy Art Studio is a perfect place to host a birthday party or kids/tween oriented event. They also have plenty of wine oriented painting events, including a regular “Girl Dinner workshop series” (see website for details).

Located in Marietta Square, Just Kiln Time is the oldest pottery and paint studio in Atlanta. While a charming place for families and couples to stop by while strolling the square, Just Kiln Time specializes in outings for team building (10 people minimum) and adult outings, in addition to birthday parties and daycare packages.

At Living Color, the vibes are the vibes are always FUN. They’re not afraid to turn the speakers up and get you moving while you paint (and sip). You’ll find them on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, conveniently located for anyone in North Atlanta.

East Atlanta Village does things a little differently, and Paint, Sip and Socialize is always ready to match that energy. Every month they host a Trap, Paint Sip party, with a live DJ and a crowd that’s ready to have a great time. Keep your ears peeled for their excellent playlist when the DJ isn’t around – at Paint, Sip, Socialize, music is clearly a part of the art making process.

With the biggest footprint of anyone on this list, you’ll be able to find a Painting with a Twist store near you. Where they may excel above all others is with date night – they have regular couples date night events that you can sign up for on their website. On top of that, they also host a regular trivia night where you can use both your right and left brains, along with blacklight glow painting nights. Host your party or just plan your week around events happening at Painting with a Twist.
