Apt 4b is serving up all the flavors of the Caribbean but with a unique twist! This funky Buckhead spot is headed by Chef Dayana Joseph, the Haitian-born creative mastermind behind inventive fare like oxtail hummus, tamarind glazed short ribs, and oxtail bucatini. With their always awesome playlists and lounge atmosphere, it’s an awesome girl’s night out or date night destination.

2. Boogalou

Boogalou is perfect for swingers! No, not that kind–they’ve got super fun swings at the bar that are super instagrammable, though you may want to hop off the swing after you’ve had more than two of their pretty potent drinks. It’s a great place to mingle and meet people and smoke some hookah. There’s a pretty great happy hour from 4pm-8pm on Tuesdays through Fridays. Be aware there’s a line out the door of this place a lot of nights and even at brunch.

3. The BQE Restaurant & Lounge

This soul food lounge has been kickin’ it in Downtown Atlanta for years. They’ve got a pretty killer brunch. great hookah, and all the day party vibes if that’s what you’re looking for. The interiors are sleek and luxe with velvet seats and an intimate atmosphere. Get the bottomless mimosas for a great time!

It’s a vibe. For “Nu American” Soul in a sexy environment in the heart of Edgewood, try Fin & Feathers. You’re going to have trouble figuring out if your food, your cocktail, or the music, typically a mix of R&B and oldies, is better. They also have hookah, and people love this place for brunch! They’ve also expanded with locations now in Douglasville, Riverdale, and even Los Angeles as well!

We’re a sucker for a sexy, dimly lit cocktail bar and add some cigars into the mix?? What more could you want? This Sandy Springs spot is the perfect place for a chill but classy hangout. 

6. The James Room

The James Room is one-part bakery, one-part speakeasy, and all-parts cool. Acquired by owner Harold Brinkley in 2020, The James Room seeks to bring “vibe dining” to the Beltline. Music and fantastic cocktails are front and center for the James Room, making each trip an experience. Come earlier in the day to enjoy a pastry on their sunny patio or slip in at night for a drink in their sophisticated cocktail lounge.

This cigar bar in Downtown Atlanta has been a go-to for years, and now they’ve got a Buckhead location as well! Enter the red phone booth and say the secret code to enter. If you want to skip the line, you can pay for an annual membership. If you’re hungry, they also have a pretty extensive menu of Italian favorites!

This place is so much fun! Come earlier for the virtual reality games, perfect for a group outing with friends. Or show up later for a party! There are glimmering red neon lights throughout the space, giving it a funky, almost hypnotic vibe. Revery VR Bar attracts a cool, eclectic and artsy crowd on the weekends, perfect place to drink and dance.

Ain’t no shame in the slushie game. Slush ATL is concocting fun and frozen drinks that are soon to be your favorite. Or if you prefer, they’ve got expertly crafted cocktails too. This Old Fourth Ward restaurant is elegant with beautiful gold and marble glittering touches throughout the space, and super tasty tapas style small plates. Indulge in their flash fried brussel sprouts, mac & cheese cupcake, or lobster & french toast

TEN ATL is East Atlanta at its best! It’s a place to chill and kick back, with a dive/lounge feel, a true hidden gem. There are some comfy chairs and cozy couches throughout the space, an intimate date night spot if you’re looking for something a little different than dinner. The music is always great, with DJs or live bands most nights, and they also have hookah! 

10. Virgil’s Gullah Kitchen & Bar

Gullah Geechee culture is entwined with the South, and Atlanta in particular, and at Virgil’s Gullah Geechee kitchen, they celebrate that culture to a T.  Virgil’s makes those Gullah Geechee low country favorites, along with soul food and rice based dishes that folks in the South love.  Plus, with their highly skilled bartenders and fun and sexy vibe, Virgil’s is always a great place to hang in downtown College Park.
