For a bougie birthday in Atlanta:  

1. Dine at Umi and splurge on drinks at speakeasy Himitsu for a nightcap. Umi is both a celebrity hot spot and one of the best spots for sushi in all around Atlanta. It’s dimly lit with an upscale, loungey and swanky atmosphere. If you plan ahead, you might even be able to visit neighborhoring Himitsu afterwards for a nightcap, a reservation-only speakeasy

2. Enjoy top-notch Greek food at Kyma. Go Mediterranean at Kyma in Buckhead and enjoy the freshest of seafood on their patio feels just like you’re in Santorini. Be sure to save room for dessert–their loukoumades (fried donuts) and banana kataifi is to die for! If you’re looking to enjoy drinks afterwards, try Latin bar Habitat to be transported to Tulum, The Blind Pig for all the speakeasy vibes, or Tesserae or St. Julep for rooftop views

3. Sip on cocktails and enjoy the views at Atlanta’s rooftop bars. There’s not a lot of better ways to celebrate your birthday than taking in a beautiful Atlanta skyline at one of the rooftop bars!  

4. Dine at one of Inman Park’s restaurants then go for a nightcap at Little Spirit. Beetlecat’s patio and seafood or Delbar’s bar and fried eggplant would be the perfect start to an evening out in Inman Park. Make a margarita at Pure Taqueria or the sangria at Barcelona your next stop, then end the night with a nightcap at cozy Little Spirit! 

5. Try any of Atlanta’s top rated steakhouses. Marcel, Kevin Rathbun Steak, Hal’s, Bones, and Chops Lobsters Bar are all some of our favorites when we’re crazing a perfectly seared steak, medium rare. 

6. Enjoy dinner and drinks in an extravagant botanical atrium. The Garden Room is all types of gorgeous, filled with vibrant florals and greenery to make your dining experience just that more special. Have dinner here or just come for cocktails to soak in the beauty. 

 

For a foodie birthday in Atlanta:

7. Enjoy a chef’s tasting menu at one of Atlanta’s premier restaurants. Atlanta is a food town, and there are some renowned chefs who are just doing incredible things in the kitchen. The chef’s tasting menu experience at places like Bacchanalia, Lazy Betty, Sushi Hayakawa, Gunshow, and the Alden will beyond impress you.  

8. Enjoy a Filipino feast at Kamayan ATL, a Buford Highway staple. Visit them for normal dinner service and go family style or book them for a private “kamayan” for a smattering of their finest offerings. 

9. Go on a Buford Highway food crawl. Gather up your friends and go on a Buford Highway food crawl! Start with banh mi’s at Lee’s Bakery, go for some xiao long bao at Northern China Eatery, grab some boba at Cuckoo’s Cafe, and end with some soft serve at Matcha Cafe Maiko. 

10. See why it’s greater in Decatur at Kimball House. Indulge in some fresh oysters and all the finer things in life at consistently top rated spot Kimball House in Decatur. Grab a drink before or after at SOS Tiki Bar, and enjoy a show at Eddie’s Attic for an all day Decatur bday celebration! 

11. Go on a global food tour with a meal at the Consulate. The Consulate is one of Atlanta’s most unique restaurants. What makes this place so different is their rotating “Visa” menu of global cuisine. Every few months, they totally revamp their food and drink menus to feature dishes from a new country. They’ve covered everything from Papua New Guinea to Cambodia to Hungary.

For a sporty birthday in Atlanta: 

12. Go to an Atlanta United game. Catch an Atlanta United game in the Mercedes Benz stadium with your best pals. Don’t miss out on the amazing fare that the stadium has to offer, including Jim ‘N Nicks BBQ, Delia’s Sausage, Farm Burger, and more! Or stop by neighboring Dat Fire Jerk Chicken of your way in for the best jerk chicken of your life. 

13. Show off your competitive side at Topgolf, Puttshack, Punch Bowl Social, The Painted Pickle, or The Painted Duck. Get a group of friends together and enjoy a round of mini golf or bowling at Atlanta’s various food + games spots.   

14. Cheer on the Braves at Truist Park. Nothing’s more Atlanta than the Braves. Be sure to also grab a few drinks at Sports & Social at the Battery afterwards or a brisket sandwich from Terrapin Taproom!  

15. Go climbing at Stone Summit Atlanta. Get a group of friends together and try out rockclimbing! Head to nearby Food Terminal after you send it and chow down on some amazing Asian fare.

For a boozy birthday in Atlanta

17. Have a few margaritas on the El Tesoro patio. One of the finest patios in town, and TBH day drinking is always a great idea for bdays.

18. Get a lapdance at the Clermont Lounge. No photos, only good times allowed. A dive bar and Atlanta’s oldest operating strip club, the Clermont Lounge is famous for its talent. We recommend starting at the Local and ending your night with a dance with Blondie.

19. Dig into Italian food and listen to ABBA at Amore e Amore. This divey little restaurant in O4W is one of the most fun experiences in Atlanta, with rockin’ 70s and 80s tunes plus tons of fun and kitschy props to make your meal more interactive.

20. Have a rip-roaring rockin’ time at a drag show at Lips AtlantaThe athleticism and entertainment factor of these dancers is just incredible. Bring cash to tip the dancers! Go for brunch or dinner. 

21. Day drink on the Beltline! Start your day out at a West End brewery and do a Beltline crawl. Hop from Best End to Wild Heaven to Monday Night Garage and just have a great time exploring! Or, visit the Eastside portion. Grab a drink at Ladybird–their backyard-esque patio is the perfect place to start your evening, and be sure to also stop the James Room, Bar Vegan in Ponce City Market, and Burle’s Bar! 

22. Have an unforgettable evening at Johnny’s Hideaway. Grab dinner or a drink first at one of Buckhead’s finest restaurants then get down and dirty at this infamous “cougar” spot that’s also one of the best places for dancing in town.

For a low-key birthday in Atlanta:                            

23. Play pool and relax at neighborhood dive Chairs. Chairs is what we wish every neighborhood bar was like–chill vibes, a cool group of people, good food, fun games to play, and Drag Bingo on Mondays. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a low-key night with friends. 

24. Feed your inner bookworm at Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party. Enjoy a delicious and super cute high tea at Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party in the Little Five Points/Candler Park area. You can also peruse their collection of vintage books–each purchase benefits a girl’s school in India! 

25. Get some grub and great beers with your besties at Porter Beer Bar. This low-key, cozy gastropub boasts 800 beers and phenomenal food. Don’t miss their salt & vinegar popcorn! 

26. Have a picnic at Piedmont Park. Pick up some Publix fried chicken or a few pub subs and enjoy al-fresco dining with your closest friends in one of the most iconic spots in the city. Park Tavern is always nearby too if you need to re-up on refreshments. 

27. Get awesome seafood AND brews at Hippin’ Hops. Hippin’ Hops Brewery is the first Black-owned brewery to hit the Atlanta scene, and they’re setting themselves apart with a menu that’s quite unlike other breweries that’s seafood first. Oysters, po boys, and lobster rolls take center stage and we’re obsessed.  

28. Play some trivia with some friends. Head to any of Atlanta’s top sports bars and breweries for a spirited game of trivia
