Atlanta Eats TV, a local, Emmy-award winning television show and media company, plus a coalition of Atlanta leaders including companies, food bloggers, media personalities, and lifestyle influencers, came together to support the launch of a social media fundraiser to benefit the awe-inspiring and local nonprofit, Giving Kitchen (GK). In just a few short days, this strong team of leaders who share a love for our city’s culinary community, raised $25,000 from hundreds of donors. A portion of the funds raised included a donation of $2,500 from Gas South.

No, not the Notorious B.I.G. But Big Poppa the local English bulldog that has stolen the internet’s heart! Rae Ellis, a costume designer who lives in Midtown, Atlanta, recently posted a photo to Twitter of her English bulldog, Big Poppa, that broke our collective hearts.

Here’s a list of restaurants who, as of April 21st,  have chosen to stay closed for dine-in services out of an abundance of caution. We suggest supporting them through takeout, delivery, purchasing gift cards, donating to any GoFundMe’s they are running, purchasing any merch they are selling, or making a donation to Giving Kitchen.

Local hometown distillery American Spirit Works has long been known for crafting some of the finest whiskeys and spirits in town.  But now, American Spirit Works has shifted gears and is doing their part to help the community combat COVID-19 by distilling hand sanitizer to hospitals, nonprofits, and other medical frontline workers.

Atlanta Eats and a coalition of major business leaders, media personalities, and lifestyle and food bloggers are partnering together to support the Atlanta community throughout COVID-19. If you’d like to join in the fight, please fill out this interest form.

 Atlanta Eats TV, a local, Emmy-award winning television show and media company, is leading a coalition of major Atlanta leaders including food bloggers, media personalities, and lifestyle influencers to support the industry they love most during this difficult time. This coalition of Atlanta leaders have launched a fundraiser via social media to benefit the awe-inspiring and local nonprofit, Giving Kitchen. In just a few short days, they have already amassed over $8,000 over various fundraising platforms. 

As Atlantans respond to the current public health crisis, they are also reacting with bravery, leadership and compassion. Our own Steak Shapiro has been talking to some of these Atlantans on Instagram Live, and we’re sharing those stories below.
